It didn't quite make sense to me that she was so nice to me, considering that she had only known me for less than two days and that I was her boyfriend's ex 'girlfriend'.
"I love this place," she said as we sat down on one of the tables. "I'm sure you'll love it too."
"Yeah," I mumbled, hearing two people argue somewhere in the back of the restaurant.
"You ruined my dress! Do you know how much this costs?" A familiar voice screamed. I tried to see who it was but my view was blocked by a bunch of people that were also trying to see the fight.
As I was about to get up to help the girl that was running towards the restrooms, Martina stopped me.
"She doesn't need your help," she said, grabbing my arm tightly. I scowled at her, loosening myself from her and walking after the girl.
She also got up, walking next to me towards the restrooms. She was absolutely confusing me at this point, making my trust for her slowly fade away.
Her back turned to us, the girl was cussing and wiping her dress at the same time.
"Let me help you," I said as I placed my hand on her shoulder to make her turn around.
When she did, my jaw almost fell on the floor.
Casey?
"I don't need your help!" She snapped, putting on a fake Russian accent. I immediately realised that she was up to something, so I decided to play along.
"Your dress says something else," I said, pointing at pink satin dress covered in dark coffee.
"You know what else my dress is saying?" She checked out Martina for a second, clearly annoyed that I wasn't alone with her. "It's saying that both of you should leave now, otherwise it won't end well for you."
To be honest I had missed Casey being extra and over dramatic. I could listen to her the entire day, just complaining and picking fights.
But she was being dumb for picking fights with Martina."Let's go tesoro," she smirked, wrapping her arm around my shoulder. I didn't like her devilish calmness. It meant nothing but danger.
We sat back at our table, finally ordering our coffees. I spent the rest of our hang out happy that Casey was here and knowing that I was in danger. But I was also mad at her for coming alone. This place, these people and this whole situation was just too dangerous for her.
"You wanna come over to me tonight?" Martina asked as we were leaving the café.
I tilted my head, looking at her for a second. She was really testing my capability of trust.
"Aren't you living with Alejandro?" I asked her. I could clearly see that this question had pissed her off, although I didn't mean to.
"Yes, we are. But I have my own separate house for times when I don't want him around." She put on a very fake smile, creating an awkward tension between us. Going somewhere private with just her was scaring the shit out of me.
"I have a better idea. Why don't you, me, Marcelo and Alejandro spend tonight together as a group? I mean it would be mean to leave them out," I said. I felt like I was sounding like I was after Alejandro. But I didn't care. I hated Marcelo, yes, but Martina couldn't do anything to me if he was around. Thinking this way also made me hate myself.
