Third person's POV
Jack was just feet away from Ava but after he left he became miles away from her.

He was so close to her yet he didn't know she was there.

Maybe it was a sign.

Maybe he wasn't meant to find her.

Maybe she was meant to stay with her new family.

Either way this happened for a reason. Weather it was fate or just a coincidence.

There was a reason behind everything.

Ava knew Jack was there but she had people to protect her.

Just like Ava didn't want to leave them, they didn't want to leave her. She was a part of their family.

She had only known them for a very short amount of time.

Yet the bond they created in that short amount time was like no other bond Ava had ever had.

Growing up with 3 brothers you would expect them to be super protective over their little sister but they aren't.

Most of the time Ava was ignored by her brothers.

There would be times she wouldn't talk to them for days.

She sort of learned that she wasn't important to them.

They didn't care for her.

They probably didn't even want a sister.

But something in Ava told her that her 3 brothers were given a little sister for a reason.

Ava's POV
Our time in Anaheim was pretty fun but now we we're headed to San Jose the last stop of the road trip before we headed back to Toronto.

I was a little sad because I was gonna miss it here.

The warm weather was probably the number one thing I would miss.

Since it was late October Toronto was starting to get cold.

Now don't get me wrong I live the cold abs I'm used to it having lived in Michigan but I think k I would prefer warm weather.

"Ava come on" Auston yelled.

"Coming" I yelled back.

One of Auston's former teammates lived here in San Jose.

I think his name was Patrick. I wasn't 100% sure, all I knew was he had 4 sons who Auston wanted me to meet.

He said one of then was kinda close in age with me, I think his name was Brody.

I was quite excited to meet them because I had never really been around kids my age.

I was homeschooled because I was constantly moving so being with kids who were kinda close in age with was nice.

When we arrived Patrick's wife Christina let us in.

"Thanks for having us" Auston said.

"Thanks for coming" she said.

We had game with Mitch, Steph, Willy and Michael.

"Ava the boys are downstairs if you want to go say hi" Christina said.

I made my way downstairs where I saw 4 boys playing hockey with mini sticks.

I stood off to the side not wanting to bother them.

"Who are you" the smallest one asked.

"I'm Ava" I said.

He stared at me but didn't saw anything.

"Sorry about him, he can be shears sometimes I'm Landon" the tallest one said.

"I'm Ava but you probably got that."

"That's Brody and Jagger and the little one that asked who you were is Caleb."

"Nice to meet you guys" I said.

"You wanna play with us" Brody asked.

"Sure but I don't know how to," Landon tossed me a tiny stick.

"We'll teach you."

They taught me the rules and how to play. It was actually very fun.

When we were done playing we went upstairs to where everyone else was.

"Hey did you have fun" Auston asked, I nodded.

"Auston you know Ava" Landon asked.

"Yeah she's my daughter."

Landon stoped dead in his tracks, "she is."

Auston laughed and nodded,  "I adopted her."

All 4 boys were shocked when they learned Auston adopted me.

I had a lot of fun today. Being with kids around my age was nice.

I was so used to being with older people, having older brothers that I usually never had anyone to hang out with.

I enjoyed the company.

It was new but I really liked it.

Tomorrow we was the game against San Jose then we would leave the day after.

Me and Steph had already picked out our outfits for tomorrow's game.

We also had seats right in front of the glass and we were going with Christina, Patrick, Landon, Brody, Jagger and Caleb.

I knew it was going to be a fun game.

Jack's POV
We left Anaheim and we're on our way back to New Jersey.

We still didn't have any luck with finding Ava.

I was starting to be really worried.

I wanted my sister back. I wanted her home.

"Do you think we'll find her" Luke asked David Quinn.

"I don't know Luke" Quinn answered.

To be honest I didn't know if we'd find her.

I mean my parents were coming back soon so we had only a little bit of time to find Ava.

But we had no idea where she could be.

She was 11. Where could she have possibly gone.

"She's smart for a 11 year old" Cole said.

"I know" I said.

Ava was smart.

Yeah she was only 11 but most of the time she was more mature then us.

That wasn't even a lie.

My mom has said it before.

When me, Luke and Quinn were together we acted like children making Ava seem like the mature one.

It was weird because I always just though Ava was a bother and I saw her as just someone who lived with me.

I never really saw her as my sister.

But now that she's gone I realized how much she actually means to me and our family.

She's a part of it whether we like it or not and that's not going to change.
