🔮 Backstory 🔮
- She's basically lived in Hawkins her entire life and has been friends with Nancy since 3rd grade, she see's Nancy like a sister :)
- During 1983 (season 1) she is mainly a minor character, but, around 1984 (season 2) is where it gets interesting and horrible for her
- While getting out off shower, the light started to flicker, the air went cold, and then it all cut out, she was home alone so she was pretty scared, she heard a gross screech coming from the other side of the door, not too close but within ear shot, so she looked through the compartment under the sink, to look for anything to defend herself, to her glee she found her dads old pistol, which he had hidden there when he and her mother bought the house before she was born, it was strange that it was there though, since he had removed it and set it in his office when she was about 3 years old
- During the events of 1984 (season 2), Layla is defending herself as well as hiding herself from the monster she's faced about once, thankfully shooting somewhere where it ran off to go too, but she does end up breaking her ankle when tripping , having to his herself in a crevice in the gross alien like walls of the upside downs tunnels
- When Steve and the kids go into the tunnels to destroy it, she stumbles her way to them, yelling for them to come to her. Thankfully hear her, so Steve goes with his bat just in case, when he sees hers he's pretty astonished before noticing her broken ankle, picking her up and taking her out before they set the tunnels ablaze
- After that she's taken from Hawkins to be looked at under medical and scientific care, because of her hiding in the crevice of one of those cocoon looking things, she had seemed to drift off, letting a demogorgon slug things had made its way into her body, causing her to reacted horrified to heat, so they had to surgically remove it since she could just spit it back up even though she was coughing a lot
- Once that was over they killed the slug via burning then tested her reaction to heat, she was completely fine with it after that
- After she had funny been healed and recovered, she was allowed to be sent home, but not able to tell anyone about what had happened
- She ended up talking about it with Dustin and the boys, trusting Nancy and Steve's word for it when they explained what had happened
- She's now just stuck with the group ever since, she didn't want anything like that happening again so she stayed with them to be safe, soon staying even more since she befriended Dustin
Other info about them:
- Layla was in a abusive relationship with her boyfriend in 1983, but when she disappeared and came back in 1984 she basically assumed that he had already found a new girl, like a break up, but he still continues to try and bother her, even in 1986 he's tried to still call her his girlfriend
• She isn't helpless or anything, sometimes she needs help but she can thankfully still hold her own as well as fight back if her ex tries to fuck with her, other times she sometimes don't prepared or is caught off guard if he just comes out of now where to talk right her
- She owns a diary that she's had for the past 4 years (1983-1986) (she's always written in a diary, starting in elementary school)
• Layla has a had a huge crush on Eddie in 8th grade, even writing it in her diary, but in high school they became friends, which was good enough for her tbh, she found it nice being his friend (obviously becoming friends through Dustin)
- During the events of 1986 (season 4) she does almost become a victim of Vecna, but thankfully Nancy remembers her recent favorite song, which is "For Whom The Bell Tolls" by Metallica, it's special to her since Eddie had recommended she listen to Metallica (before all this shit aka the murders by Vecna went down)
• "For Whom The Bell Tolls" by Metallica was released in 1984, so she didn't really know about metal music until Eddie gave her some recommendation when she was curious about it
- Layla herself has never played DnD before but is thankfully still learning form Dustin and Mike
