It was 11PM...the next day and Malik, Athena, Bryson and I had been up all night and day looking for any clue to where Zaire might be
"Yo check this out" Malik said causing me and Athena took look over
"Mckenna's mom is in a nursing home and isn't allowed any visitors" He said
"ok? what does that have to do with zaire?" I asked
"if you could wait while I get to that, I would have said that she's in a nursing home and isn't allowed any visitors except one who's name is Jennifer" Malik continued
"who's jennifer?" Athena asked
"sister?" I asked
"that's what I thought too, but Mckenna is an only child. Her mom struggled to get pregnant for years until she got her rainbow baby that we know as Mckenna" Malik said
"that still doesn't answer the question of who's jennifer" Bryson said causing us to look at him
"Bryson." I said
"what?" He responded
poor baby too slow to put two and two together
"ain't no way" Malik said chuckling
"if McKenna is the only child and she aint allowed no visitors except one who the hell you think is visiting this lady Bryson?" I said
"OHHHHHHH!! when you put it like that, it makes sense" Bryson said
"put it what way? the only way? So slow" Malik said
"alright alright when does 'Jennifer' go see Ms. Davids" I asked putting quotes around Jennifer
"technically her name is Jennifer because that's Mckenna's middle name" Malik said
why would she put her middle name down??
"that's weird" I said
"what is?" Athena said looking at me
"whatchu mean?" I said looking back at her
"You said that's weird, what do YOU mean?" She said raising her eyebrow
oh shit, that part wasn't meant to be said out loud
"I just found it weird that she would use her middle name as her first when anyone could put two and two together" I explained
"obviously not anyone" Malik said
"Shut up black bitch" Bryson said
"You first porch monkey" Malik replied
"OK!" Athena yelled
Just as Athena was about to say something, my phone rang. I looked down and saw that it was my mom calling me.

"oooooo you in troubleee" Athena dragged
"who are you telling" I said as I walked to the bathroom to pick up the call
"hello" I said when the call connected
"SAGE" my mom's voice boomed through the phone
"yes?" I said already annoyed
"sage marie thompson" she said
"yes mother?" I said as I rolled my eyes
