~Adalyn's POV~

I'm terrified

My dad is angry. No. Furious.

We were at the store and I accidentally dropped a jar of jam and it shattered all over the floor.

My dad had to pay for it. That's why my dad is angry.

We are in the car. I just know something is going to happen.

I can't wait for the school year to start. Luckily it starts tomorrow.

All of a sudden my dad stops the car.

"Get out."

What?

I can't walk home at this hour. It's almost 1 in the morning.

"I said get out. Or do I have to make you."

I got out of the car.

It's like a 30 min drive to get home. That's not walking.

He drives off.

I start walking home. Also, I don't have my phone. I left it at home. My dad doesn't exactly know I have a phone. That's why I didn't bring it.

I walk for around 10 minutes before it starts down pouring. I love the rain but I hate thunder and lightning storms.

And I'm that exact moment I hear thunder in the background. Wow, great timing.

I run to the closest building.

I walk in and let me just say it is huge.

Wow

I walk over to the front desk and ring the little bell.

I want to ring it again. It's so shiny

"Can I help you?"

I look up to see a very proper-looking guy.

"U-um. C-could I use y-your p-phone?"

He looks at me and then looks down at my outfit with a judge look in his eyes.

"I'm sorry but you can't."

What! Why?

That's dumb.

Crap doddle that's mean.

"M-may I a-ask w-why?"

That was mean too

I really need to stop being mean

"You. Don't. Work. Here."

I feel tears form in my eyes. I'm such a crybaby.

"SECURITY." He yells

"P-please. I-i j-just n-need t-to call s-someone."

"What the fuck do you think you're doing."

Wow. That was a deep voice.

The receptionist looks up with fear visible on his face.

Why is it so cold?

Oh I know I'm drenched from head to toe.

"Boss. I'm just um telling this girl she can't u-use the phone because she's not a w-worker h-here."

Boss?

What kinda building is this?

"Why the fuck would you do that." There's that deep voice again.

"I-i u-um s-sir."

Poor Fred. I named him Fred. He looks like a Fred.

"Get out of my sight. NOW."
