~Lorenzo's POV~

As I'm walking into my office I feel my phone vibrate in my pocket.

I take it out and see Adalyn has texted me.

"I'm not going to school because I'm not feeling well."

I send an ok and walk out of my office.

I walk up to Leo at his desk.

"Cancel all of my meetings today," I say then walk off before he can respond.

Once I'm downstairs I get into my car and drive to her house but stop at getting some soup for her.

Once I get there I don't see another car.

That's good it would be very hard to explain how I know Adalyn.

I knock on the door but no one answers.

Is she here?

Or is she being a good girl and not answering the door when no one else is here?

Is she sleeping?

I look under the mat for a key but there's no key.

I sigh and think about calling her but what if she's asleep?

I put my hand on the door and twist and luckily it is unlocked.

Why is it unlocked?

I open the door hearing it creek and admittedly get hit with a sting smell of beer and alcohol.

What the fuck?

I walk around seeing it a mess.

When I don't find her or her room I walk upstairs.

I make it to the first room and find an empty room.

There's only one other room up here so I'm guessing it's her room.

I walk up to it and hear shuffling on the other side of the door.

She didn't hear me knock?

I knock on the door gently and wait for her to answer.

"C-c-come i-in," I hear her voice full of fear.

I open the door slowly worried.

Why does she sound so scared?...

Right, when I see her face I'm livid.

Who the fuck hurt her!?

She has dark bruises and cuts all over her face with a handprint on her neck.

I close the door and walk up to her trying to hide my anger even though at this point it's impossible to do so.

"What happened," I said while gripping her waist but she winces and tried to get away from my grip.

I pull my hands away.

"Tell. Me." I say sternly.

She shakes her head whimpering and closes her eyes.

I go to put my hands on her cheeks but she starts pushing me out the door I don't budge as sobs rake through her fragile body.

She falls to her knees sobbing and gasping for air.

I bend down to help her.

"I need you to breathe baby," I say but I'm too late.

She already passed out.

I bend down and pick her up bridal style.

I place her down on her bed feeling furious.

Who the fuck could ever hurt her?
