about two years later
horror was helping nightmare get ready while killer set up a few things in outertale, nightmare was struggling to get on a suit and at some point they had to cut out holes for the tenacles. nightmare was constantly looking in the mirror trying to make everything perfect.
"are you sure she's going to say yes?"
"do I need to ask her for you?"
"no..."
"good. now go out there and get your girl."
nightmare waited in outertale while horror got you. nightmare's heart and soul were pounding with anticipation. what if you didn't come? what if you thought he was a monster and said no? what if-
"horror said you wanted to see me?" you asked sweetly.
"yeah.." he said 'no going back now.' getting down on one knee "Y/N L/N, two years three months and a week ago we sat on this very island and shared our first kiss, that day was magical to me, even if I was a magical skeleton. and when I woke up to you cuddling me and you saying you loved a monster like me, I felt so much joy that day. I may not be able to feel emotions as strongly as most humans and monster do, but with you around I can feel more normal. sure, I might not be able to feel love like monsters, happiness like monsters, and every other positive emotion, but with you I have felt the strongest dose of them. so Y/N will you be my queen of nightmares?" he said holding out a ring box
"yes. yes I will you dumb idiot."
"your dumb idiot" he corrected
"my dumb idiot." you said putting on the ring, it was a sliver band with decals of sliver leaves trailing up the ring, with a crescent shaped moonstone sitting on the top of it. it was beautiful, to say the least.
and from that day on, what once was a kingdom of iron and rust, was restored to a kingdom of gold and marble.
P.S: you learned nightmare did indeed have a emo room. hand over the ten.
