Race to the Edge (Hiccup x reader)

Mila lays on the back of Toothless while her and the gang are flying to a scauldron, a dragon that was causing some kind of havoc. She is staring at the sky above her while they are flying. She had been reading all about the dragons that Hiccup and Fishlegs know in the book of dragons.

It was fascinating to her and she had been happy to read what was going on and what they had discovered. She was so quickly fascinated with Fishlegs and Hiccup telling her all kinds of stories about they're experiences with dragons.

They know that Mila is with them so they have to be careful but Mila is sure that she can hold onto Hiccup and stay on Toothless. She had given the book back already so it couldn't fall into the water or get wet.

"All right, gang, we'll buzz past the scauldron and draw its attention so Astrid, ruff and Tuff can net it from behind and drag it out to sea, got it?" Hiccup asks the gang.

Mila gets up into a seating position and wraps her arms around Hiccup's waist to keep her safely on the dragon.

"I still think we should blast it!" Tuffnut says.

"Stoick just wants us to move the scauldron out of Berk's fishing lanes, so don't get any crazy ideas." Astrid says.

Hiccup had gotten a terror mail from Stoick about the scauldron problem. Mila hadn't seen any of the Berkians just yet and she isn't ready to meet an entire village at this moment.

"Uh, sorry. Crazy is what we do, Astrid. Duh!" Ruff says while she hangs upside down from her dragon.

Mila rolls her eyes again. She is questioning why they didn't leave her on the edge or just dropped her off at an island that she could stay safe at as she doesn't have a dragon nor is it safe for her to sit behind Hiccup on a dragon.

"You guys do realise that a scauldron's hot water blast can rip the scales right off a screaming death?" Fishlegs says while flying in front of them while flying backwards.

Just as Fishlegs says that the scauldron comes up from the water. Mila mumbles something against Hiccup's back while she is ready to die because she has a feeling that no way in Niflheim is that going well.

"There it is. Let's focus, guys." Hiccup says to the gang.

"And I'm going to die or fall off and die." Mila mumbles into his back.

"No you're not, Mila, just hold on tight." Hiccup tells her. Which doesn't help her calm her nerves at all.

She nods her head against his back. This is either going to die by drowning as she can't swim at all or by getting burned to death. Either way it doesn't look all too good for her. And another problem is that none of them know that she can't swim.

Mila sees Astrid throw a rope at Ruff, who catches is with ease, which contains the net. They fly passed Fishlegs towards the scauldron.

"As usual, nobody's listening to Fishlegs." He says, while he snorts.

Snotlout flies by as they all get ready to relocate the scauldron to the sea. Mila buries her face into Hiccup's back, not wanting to see what is going to happen. She doesn't want to see how she is gonna die.

"One..." hiccup says, mila hears a snort coming from Fishlegs again.

She turns to him and sees that he looks like he is going to sneeze at any moment. She knows that that can blow her cover but there is nothing that she can do but watch it all unfold and hope to make it out alive.

"Two..." hiccup says.

Mila sees Fishlegs grunting and running his finger under his nose. He is going to sneeze and hard too, she closes her eyes and tightens her grip on Hiccup who doesn't seem to notice her shaking with fear for her life at this moment, for all their lives.
