River: I'm stopping by to drop off your painting.

Claudia's heart dropped at the sudden message from him.

She wasn't upset, only jittery.

Her father was home, and he would want to talk with River.

'I can do this. Dad won't be terrible. He's a cool dad,' Or so she hoped.

Claudia: Okay! I'll be waiting

River: I'll be waiting to see those rosy cheeks and that beautiful smile

Swoon.

Swoon.

Swoon.

Claudia: Hush, you won't be seeing me at all now. I'm working on a poem, my father will receive the painting.

She wasn't working on a poem, but now she wanted her father to drill River. It was his turn to turn red.

River: You'll have to share one of your poems with me.

River: Meeting the parents already? You play coy, but you're just as eager as I am. I'll be glad to meet him.

Claudia: Leave me alone.

She put her phone under her thigh and opened her journal.

'Breezy.

Flutters.

Happiness.

A gladdened smile.

Softly squinted eyes.

Calming tone.

Gentle touch.

Something new. Delightful. Handsome.

Someone.

River.

Faithful.

Kind.

Genuine.

Handsome.

River.

An unexpected friend turned into something more.

Never in a million dreams did I think, but here I am.

Here we are.

A friend near and dear to my heart.

The strongest man I've met, kept by a chair, nothing stops him.

He is one distinct, a never before-seen dream, River.

Somehow the embodiment of truth. Of what I've desired.
