We're often told that
When you love someone or something
"Let them go"," set them free"
I used to not understand from what
But I've realized it can be from
Multiple numbers of things
Being with you has been one
Of the most precious things in my life
You taught me to lower my walls
To let you in and be able to learn
How to give a damn about myself
This is why letting you go
To reinvent yourself feels like a reasonable reason
to let you walk away.
I love you enough to let you go in hopes of the next part of this phrase we're told
"When you love someone let them go, and if they come back they were always meant to stay in the first place."
Considering that nothing is wrong
Between you and myself
Considering that we let go to find
A way to restructure our lives
And find balance
Even though it hurts to not be with you
It soothes my mind to know you
Are doing this to better yourself
And therefore I'm proud of you
And I'm also proud of myself
For letting you have that for yourself
Because I know if I did the same you'd be just as proud of me.
You will always be home
And you'll always find a home in me.
As I do the same for myself
It's time for me to build a balance
Structure and get to the top of the food chain
Hope to meet you at the top. My love.
