After Billy was out of sight, and in his own yard, I closed my window and laid back on my bed. I sighed and stared at the ceiling, there wasn't much else to do, considering now I was grounded.
"Evelyn, someone's on the phone for you." My brother said, my eyes widened and I quickly rushed downstairs. I figured it would be Nancy, maybe returning the call and or wondering if I got home alright.

I grabbed the phone and brought it to my ear.
"Hello?" I questioned.
"Hey." A familiar voice said, it wasn't Nancy, but billy. I wrapped the telephone cord around my finger.
"Hey." I said.
"Meet me outside your house, tonight."
"I'm grounded." I whispered.
"So?"
"So, I can't leave the house."
"Be a rule breaker." He said, my cheeks heated and I shook my head lightly.
"Fine, around 8-ish?" I asked.
"Sounds great." He said and we said our goodbyes, I hung up the phone and went up to my room as fast as I could before my father stopped me. He stood in the doorway with his arms crossed.
"Who was on the phone?" He asked in a stern voice. I was scared and couldn't tell him about billy.
"Nancy." I lied. My father liked Nancy, and the wheelers in general. He thought they were respectable people and he liked hanging out with Ted.
"Mm." He said in response and I slipped pass him into my room, then shut the door ensuring to lock it.

I was about to sneak out of the house, to meet up with Billy. My dad would kill me, he hated their family, because of the shouting. He didn't give a shit about what happened, only that they were loud.

When 8:00 came around, I grabbed a small bag and put some cigarettes and a lighter in there, along with a bit of money incase we left the neighborhood completely.

I walked over to my window and opened it. Hesitantly stepping onto the roof. I stumbled a lot and my breathing was shaky as fuck. I saw Billy in my yard but he was out of view from the windows. He saw me and flashed a grin, then he ran over to where I was on the roof, but he was on the ground obviously.
"Jump." He said. It wasn't to far up, but would still hurt if I landed wrong. I shook my head and slid off, kinda like a slide at a playground. I tightly shut my eyes and prepared for impact of the ground. Adrenaline was rushing through me in that second but I felt arms wrap around me. I opened my eyes and saw Billy who caught me and slowly lowered me to the ground. My cheeks heated and I turned a light shade of pink, he smiled at this.
"Hey." He said.
"Hey." My breath was still unsteady and adrenaline still present.
"So why did you want me to meet you."
"We're gonna have fun." He said. A devilish grin plastered on his face and I was nervous.
"Mind outta the gutter." He added and nudged me in the arm ever so lightly.
"Your one to talk!" I said, it was loud and I put a hand over my mouth and went over to the side of the house, I heard the front door open and billy and I sat down. We were silent and he was really close to me. My breath hitched and he turned his head to look at me, a grin creeping up on his lips. When the door closed again, I let out a sigh of relief.
"Alright Hargrove, what do you mean by fun?" I asked, he grinned, and I couldn't help but do it to. He grabbed my hand and we both stood up. We very sneakily made our way to his yard, avoiding being seen by my parents along with his.
"Alrighty." He muttered to himself while getting in his car. I slipped in the passenger side as swiftly as possible. I closed the door and sank in the seat. His car was nice and there wasn't a spec of dust on his dashboard. I'd been in it before but never actually paid any attention to the details. He put the key in the ignition and soon we were off.

"Where the hell are we going?" I asked. We had been driving for about 5 minutes and he still hadn't told me what "fun" entailed.
"Somewhere." He said with a smile. I rolled my eyes and went to change the radio station. He softly grabbed my wrist and glanced at me.
"Nuh uh, driver picks the music." He said, his grip around my wrist loosened when I rolled my eyes.
"What if the driver has bad taste?" I questioned. I was just getting under his skin, truthfully, I liked his music. He held a hand to his chest mocking being hurt.
"That hurt me, really." He said with a bit of a laugh. I couldn't help but laugh as well.

He stopped the car at a spot I've never recognized.
"Are you going to murder me or some shit." I questioned with a smile.
"1, never. 2, if I was, I wouldn't tell you." He said with a grin. We got out of the car and there was a cliff edge, he grabbed my hand and we walked closer to it. My eyes widened at the sight. You could almost see all of Hawkins, with the pale moon and a few signs dimly lighting the quaint little town.
"Cool, huh?" He asked and we sat down at the cliff edge.
"Cool? Are you shitting me? This is awesome." I said, awesome couldn't describe it, there were so many words, but I was at a loss for them. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw him staring at me. I glanced over at him then he quickly looked away.
"What?" I asked.
"Nothin." He replied. I scooted closer to him and laid my head on his shoulder, his demeanor softened.

BILLYS POV:

My heart was racing but I tried to play it cool. When she put her head on my shoulder I could practically melt. I brought my hand up and started to play around with her hair. She scooted closer to me as the wind started to grow colder. It was November, but still freezing.
"Hey, Billy." She asked.
"Hm."
"Thanks." She said. She looked up at me and I was so scared she could tell that my face was turning a bright pink, although the darkness could conceal it well enough. I looked back down at her and our eyes met.

EVELYNS POV:

When his eyes met mine I brought my face closer to his, he did the same and our lips crashed together. His hand came up and held the side of my face. We both scooted back from the edge a bit and I wrapped my legs around his torso. He smiled and the kiss broke away. I pulled him in for a hug and rested my head on his chest. His arms wrapped around me and he held me closer. My eyes started to get heavy and before I knew it, I was slowly drifting off to sleep.

BILLYS POV:

I noticed that she fell asleep and I slowly pulled away from the hug then picked her up, bridal style. She wrapped her arms around my neck and I held her closer to me. I opened the passenger side door and placed her down in the seat, then laid the seat back some. I shut the door as quietly as I could before going into the drivers side. I looked over at her and couldn't help but smile, then I threw my jacket over her so it was like a blanket. Then I started driving, glancing back at her every now and then to make sure she was ok.

EVELYNS POV:

I felt a hand lightly nudge my shoulder and my eyes fluttered open. Billy was there with a small smile on his face.
"Hm." I said, completely oblivious to what was going on, then I looked out the window and saw we had pulled into our neighborhood.
"Shit." I muttered under my breath.
"What?" He asked.
"I'm grounded, and the lights on in my living room, so I can't sneak back in the house." I said.
"Oh." He looked ahead and though about something.
"You could stay here for tonight." He added with a grin. I smiled and nodded.
