Night had fallen over the forest, encasing it under the beautiful black, blues, purples and even specs of white
The sounds of crickets chirping about as the wind blows gently, The surrounding greenery following the fluent movements with the wind as lightning bugs fly about the area

The pilgrims were continuing their travels after a few months the baby was born, deciding to camp out in a clearing for the night
Zhu Bajie and Sha Wujing helping to clean the ground of twigs, fallen leaves, bugs, and rocks
The monk playing with the baby by making silly faces as the cub responds with giggling fits and chewing on their fluffy tail, The monk practically in love with the cub as he twirled around with it
The constant baby talk made a certain someone annoyed, Twitching eyes as Sun Wukong swipes the cub from The monk

"Oh---kay!
How about we let the baby rest, Master?"
He suggested with a brow twitching, Not masking his annoyance very well and The monk laughs a bit
"Nonesense, Wukong!
Why, The little one doesn't even look tired yet!"

The monk told as he reached out for the cub, Wukong raising the cub high so the monk couldn't reach it, The monk nearly fell forward until he was caught by Wukong's tail around his waist
The sage lifting the monk up a bit and setting him back on his feet, Wukong forces a laugh a bit

"Well, The book that Elder Liu says that {even though a baby doesn't seem tired, They should still be put down for nap time.}"
He quoted her as the monk had a pouty expression across his face, Wukong's face turning one to surprise when he feels the cub taken out his paws

He whips his head around to see Sha Wujing blowing raspberries into the left side of the cub's face, Earning a squeal that turned into a loud shriek of laughter as the cub wiggled in his hands
Sha Wujing feeling a glare on him that made him sweat, slowly looking over at The great sage

"Not. Helping."
The sage spoke between his grit fangs and angry expression, Sha Wujing glancing between the king and the cub
Thus it felt like he was between a mother and her baby... The most dangerous place to be and he hands the cub back to the king as he skiddadles to help start a fire

The great sage sighs and looks at the active baby wiggling around in his paws...Maybe the monk was right but he couldn't bear to hear the group making high pitch tones towards the baby for another 12 hours straight
But suddenly... ever so suddenly did they all perk up at the sound "oh" coming from...
the cub?!
"I think it just tried to mimic you, Sun!"

Bai Long Ma chimed with excitement as everyone suddenly gathered around and basically squished Wukong in the middle, The cub looking like they had not a thought behind those adorable eyes that held curiosity
Along with a smile that made the cub more captivating as everyone waited for it to do it again
"...Oooo!
Try getting it to say our names!"

Zhu Bajie suggested but was met with a scold by the monk
"Zhu!
It's far too early for them to be saying stuff so advanced!"
As this went on, Wukong held the baby with his tail as he used his arms to squeeze himself out of the group huddle, Popping out and landing on his stomach as the cub was held high

He huffs some grass blade out of his face before he felt a bite on his tail that made him tense up, Looking up and seeing the baby chewing his tail and pulling on the fur
Wukong sat crisscross and lowered the baby into his arms, Yawning a bit

"I'm not taking a night shift this time... Piglet, You do it!"
Wukong proposed as he held the baby toward Zhu Bajie, The piglet widened his eyes with annoyance but also disbelief
"Me?! Why should I do it?!"
He exclaimed with a demand in his tone, Upset at both the nickname and the sudden task at hand
"Because you laze around all day while the rest of us work our butts off, Not only keeping master from being eaten but also dealing with a baby, Every. Single. Day!"

The Monkey king ranted with a growl, Zhu Bajie taking the baby and sighing in defeat
"Fine!
Only because it's so adorable!"
He agreed as he put his hoof on his hip, Suddenly being pulled in by his scarf and being met face to face with a dead serious monk
A scary smile on his face as Zhu Bajie began to sweat

"If anything happens to that cub, I will make sure Wukong finds you at the ends of the earth and deal with you myself..."
The monk warned as Zhu Bajie felt like he was about to wet himself, HOW WAS THIS POSSIBLE?!
BY THE MONK OF ALL PEOPLE?!
He gulped down his fear and nodded, Nervously chuckling with a smile before they all had dinner

Chatted for a while and heading to bed, Unfortunately for Zhu...
The baby was still active and crawling onto his tummy, patting the outer belly button on his stomach before Zhu sighed and picked up the infant once more
Sitting up and yawning
"What else do you want..?"

He asked as the baby simply stared at him with a head tilt, All eight of their ears wiggling about for a second
At this rate... Zhu might not get any sleep but it's not like he can stay mad at the cub for long, He simply lays back down and has the baby in his arms
Cuddling with the cub as the cub themselves couldn't move under his arm that held them down, Their tail thumping about as they tried to break free and eventually gave up

Soon enough the two had fallen asleep as the cub had wrapped their little paw around the end of Zhu's scarf as their tail wraps around his arm...
As the night continued, The cub's ears had perked up to some noise outside

Rustling of leaves and quick pitter patters along the outside of the tent that peeked the curious baby monkey's interest, Due to Zhu being asleep
The hold was basically much looser as the cub crawled out of his arms with ease and pawed at the curtains in the entrance, The noise of something scattering away had occurred as the cub rolls out of the tent and plops on their stomach

The end of their tail landing over their face, The fur tickling their noise before they sneezed cutely
The tail lifts as the cub gets on their hands and knees, Shaking off the dirt before starting to crawl at the endless bush rustling and footsteps

The cub spots something interesting peeking out the bush, Something fuzzy, lingering in the shadows...
Before the cub had time to react, It was suddenly wrapped around a black and furry tail that dragged it into the bushes

Some of the bush leaves falling onto the grass with a few strands of blue hair
The sudden eerie giggling of a man occurring as bright, purple hues broke through the dead of night...
Purple eyes that held some scheming as they narrowed...
