Too young to understand

The birds chirped and grass hoppers hopped,
A cute butterfly landed on top of a large grass blade that gently blew in the wind
A blue fluffy tail sticking up and out of the large grass field,
slowly approaching the unsuspecting butterfly as the blue fluffy tail wiggled about before kito popped out to pounce on the butterfly
The small insect appearing fine upon kito opening their hand and in a crouched position,
smiling down at their catch

The butterfly fluttered it's wings of purples and blues,
Taking of and flying high into the sky
Kito watched in awe as the wind kept blowing gently,
Their ears twitching and they smirked as they went back to predator mode
Sneaking up on an innocent demon bull Prince that was trying to study his pyrokenisis at a young age, His parents wanted him to start early

Red Son heard some grass shuffling behind him and looked over his shoulder to see nothing was there,
Puzzled but already knowing who it was that was hunting him
Adjusting his glasses and looking back to his book

"Come on out you blue fur ball!
I already know it's you-
AHHHH!"

The demon bull Prince was interrupted by looking up and getting tackled down by a blue simian who pounced on him,
Tickling his sides as the Prince laughed suddenly

"AHHHH!
NO!
STOP IT-
AHAHAHAHAHAHA!"

Kito had did what they were told as they sat on Red Son's pelvis,
tail swaying in pride as they caught him off guard
Smirking and getting off of him,
offering a hand to the bull Prince who took it after recovering his breath

"You know I hate being tickled!"

Red son mentioned after bonking kito lightly on the head with his book,
Kito yelping in sudden pain and chuckling

"Oh come on, You love it!"

Kito countered his denial as they rubbed their head to clear the pain,
Red son with a huffy pout set his book back down to go back to studying,
Figuring out his glasses were gone and he frantically looked around for them

"Looking for these?"

Red son looked up in surprise and huffed again,
Kito crouched on a big rock and putting on his glasses
Leaning backwards and using their own tail as a seat

"Dude, How do you even see in these??"(Kito)

"GIVE THEM BACK YOU OVERGROWN BERRY!"(red son)

Red son exclaimed and reached for his glasses back,
snatching them via pyrokenisis
The flames engulfing the glasses and levitating them back to himself,
Kito shaking their hands and exclaiming comedically of how it burns

"OW-
HOT, HOT, HOT!!!"

The blue simian stuck their hands into their mouth to cool down the burns as red simply huffed,
knowing kito was just being dramatic
Kito pouted a bit and floated over to Red son,
Nuzzling their snout into his arm

"You've been training ALL day!
I thought we were gonna hang out!"

Kito complained as red son sighed and felt a bit bad for keeping his best friend waiting, Closing his book
Kito's ears perking and smiling to Red son finally taking a break to spend time with them
Red son looking over his shoulder and was caught off guard when a flower crown of morning glories and blue poppies were put onto his head
Looking up to see kito wearing a flower crown of red, a closed eye smiling and giggling that caused his heart to miss a beat

Red's eyes had a glimmer as kito's reflection filled his eyes, a light blush filled his cheeks as he suddenly felt nervous and laughed a bit with kito
His best friend was always adorable... so why the sudden emotions..?
He didn't have time to process as Kito grabbed his hands and lead him into the grassy field behind them,
Many grass hoppers being startled and hopping away as the two ran through the field with giggles and smiles

The two played hide and seek, tag and rested on the grassy field for cloud gazing after kito won so many times
A thought came to kito's mind as they sat up a bit to rest on their right side, looking over at red

"Hey...Red?
Do you think...we'll always be like this?"

The question peeked red's curiosity as he looked over at kito replying in a puzzled manner

"Huh?
What brought that up?"

Kito got nervous and rubbed the back of their own head, ruffling their hair

"Oh-
Ya know, just a silly thought-
Hehehe . . ."

Red son didn't buy it for a second but would never want to pressure his best friend into anything

"Well, I doubt we can be EXACTLY like this forever...
We have to grow up at some point, See the world for what it is and what it has to offer."

The Prince replied and kito felt a bit saddened by his response, Sitting up completely and raising one knee to their chest
Resting their arm on their knee

"The world could never offer me another you, I like being with you and our family...
Not being able to see each other a lot makes me sad.."

The blue simian admitted with all 8 ears drooping in a gloomy manner, Red son sitting up and understanding kito's attachments

"I think the fact you care so much and think about our loved ones is what keeps us together, Even when we're apart.
I mean, I'll certainly be thinking about you with these on my head."

Red son mentioned as he pointed at his blue flower crown, Smiling

"What I'm trying to say is, I like being with you too."

Red son admitted as he hugged kito in an attempt to comfort them, Kito smiling and ears perking as they hugged their best friend back with tails intertwining and wagging

"I love hanging out with you too, Bud!
Best friends forever?"

Kito held up their paw to do the secrect handshake between the two youngsters, Red with a determined smile and nodding to the question
Bringing his hand up to kito's

"Yeah!
     Forever..."
