All was quiet and peaceful in the bull family home, The parents and little red son finishing up breakfast that was prepared after The Demon Bull King had returned from hunting
The young boy however seemed to be fired up about something, So much that he couldn't sit still
P.I.F and D.B.K raise a brow at their son's restlessness, They both gave a small smile of curiosity

"Red son, What has gotten you so excited today?"
P.I.F asked as she gathered the dirty dishes, Red son looking up at her with a big grin
"Well Mother, Kito and I are going to be competing today!"
He helps his mother carry the dishes to wash
"Competing?
For what exactly?"
She asked as she was now more curious

"We're going to prove who's better once and for all!
Testing strength, speed, endurance, accuracy..."
The boy went on and on about how he was going to beat the blue simian as he helps clean the dishes, P.I.F giggling a bit
"Well then, Let's hurry and get you dressed before they arrive."

She ushers the boy to his room to help him brush his hair and pick out his clothes for the day, He then goes to brush his teeth and now has to play the waiting game for his best friend
He just hopes they don't arrive late again. . .

His ears perk up to yells of excitement and joy outside his home, Running out to find the source of the voice was coming from the sky
He squints his eyes a bit as he adjusts his glasses, Coming into view was Monkey King on his magic cloud as he held a certain blue simian child in his arms
And they were coming in hot

"REEEEEED!"
Kito had yelled and Red son got spooked of how fast they were approaching, The magic cloud skidding to a stop in front of Red son before Kito leaps and tackled the bull son into a hug
Nuzzling him as their tails intertwined, He hugs back his best friend and giggles at the affection
"Kito!
Not in front of our parents!"
Red son whisper shouted as his face got a bit pink

"Gee!
I missed ya too, Red boy!"
The blue simian responded with a bit of sarcasm before letting him go and pulling him up onto his feet, Unable to contain their excitement as their tail wags uncontrollably
"Anyways, Are you ready for a day filled with some awesome?!"
They exclaimed in question and Red son nods with a determined expression, Raising his fist in the air as it engulfs in flames
"This day with be glorious!"
He cheered with a high pitch maniac laugh

Wukong raised an eyebrow as he got a bit nervous from the sudden chaotic energy, Hopping off his cloud and standing next to the two children
"May I ask why this day is important?"
Kito huffs with a bit of impatience and disappointment
"Red boy and I are having an epic competition today to see who's better!
I told you, Master and the uncles last night!"
Kito explained with a pout and Wukong thinks about it, Having a fuzzy memory of last night's conversation

"Oops!
I guess I fell asleep during that, Sorry kiddo!"
He ruffles little blue's hair as he laughs nervously, Kito still being a bit huffy but clearly enjoying the headpat as their tail wags behind them
"We're gonna face dangerous trials like no one has ever seen!"
Red son declared and Kito nods
"So dangerous!
But I'm gonna be the bravest, You'll see!"
Kito announced peacefully as Red son whips his head to look at them, Eyes widened with disbelief

"No way, I'm gonna be the bravest and bestest one!
You'll be too blind to see because you'll be eating my dust and smoke!"
Kito gasps
"Oh yeah?!"
Kito butts their forehead with Red Son, He in return adds some resistance against Kito's forehead
"Yeah!"
Red son exclaimed before he tackles Kito into the ground

Both engaging in some playfighting and Wukong laughing a bit
until they all heard a voice being cleared, Freezing and the 3 slowly looking over at P.I.F who wasn't impressed
"What did we talk about?"
The two children instantly sit on their knees and bow their heads in shame
"No rough housing anywhere but the training room or forest when attending to the Bull family home..."
They both said in unison and P.I.F smiles with pride
"That is right, Now go before I decide to punish you both."

The kids scramble off in a hurry as they giggle up a storm, Not knowing that their parents are going to have a serious conversation as the adults head inside
Red son and Kito running about but make sure they're not too far from the bull family home, Kito climbing and swinging off tree branches to another as Red son runs about the forest floor

They had their little competition with testing strength, Lifting large and heavy rocks to which Kito won by holding a boulder over their head, Of course they ended up tilting to the right and dropped it as they fell
A few trees knocked down and the two scramble from the scene, Next up was speed

Red son grabbed a stick and drew a line in the dirt as a starter point, The end goal was to make it to the large tree with a red marker and back
They both lower into a sprinter's start position in front of the line
"I won't lose this round, Peasant!"
Red son exclaimed and Kito whips their head around to smirk at him

"We'll see about that, Red boy!"
They start counting down from 5 and the moment they both said "go" they bolted off, Kito taking the lead by storm and Red son having a bit of an outburst in the background as fire burts from his body
To Kito's surprise however... it was hard to stop themselves from running

They made it to the red marker as they skid across the ground, tripping over their feet and tumbling into the dirt past the tree
Red son instantly stops as he heard a yelp of pain ahead, Immediately switching from being upset to complete concern, Running over and pushing the bushes aside to see that Kito was curled up and shaking a bit, Sniffling as Red jogs over and peers over his companion

"Kito?!
Are you-"
He gasps as he saw smudges of blood appearing on Kito's tail and a scrape on their inner left paw, He offers his hand to which Kito stares at it with teary eyes
"It h-hurts!"
Kito exclaimed with a pained expression and Red frowns, Knowing that they won't wanna move
"I know but if we don't head home, It's gonna keep hurting.
Come on, Mother will help you feel better!"

Red son encouraged and Kito looks up at him, Nodding and taking his hand
Red son noticed that Kito wobbled and put their right arm around his shoulders, Helping them walk back to the bull family house to where he calls out for P.I.F
She patched up the little blue simian as Dbk held back an overreacting Wukong, Wukong comedically crying about his kid's tail having been punctured by a sharp small rock

Dbk takes Wukong out the room to calm down as P.I.F goes to put away the medical supplies, Red noticed that Kito had a guilty expression and sighs
"If you're worried about the competition, Forget about it.
I'm more concerned about you getting better again so I can kick your butt properly!"
Kito glances over at Red and have an unsure look about them

"R-really?
But we were looking forward to it all week and I ruined it..."
Kito spoke sadly as they look at the floor with shame, Red son walking over as sitting next to his monkey friend
Wanting to give them a hug but didn't want to hurt them further, So instead he held their right paw in his hand

"You didn't ruin it, Dummy.
We can always do it again, Preferably indoors where there AREN'T any rocks...and then we can practice that dance we saw in the village that one time."
He stated and Kito's droopy ears all perk up as they look at him, Giving a comforted smile before giggling and nuzzling their cheek against the side of his face
"Thanks Red!
You're the best!"

Red son glanced around to see if the adults were watching before smiling and nuzzling back his fluffy friend, Both their tails gently intertwined
"I know, You won't stop telling me."
Red son told with a prideful chuckle
Little did the two know that Dbk, Wukong and P.I.F were peeking a bit past the door frame and internally crying from how cute this moment is as Wukong's tail was wagging non-stop
