Listless Reset [GI]

Chapter 1

"It's so hot now..." Aether opened his eyes while slowly raising his arm above his head to block out the sun from making him blind. "Need... shade." Getting up from his sleeping position, he stretched a bit and winced.

Stretching takes too much energy... Did Paimon go back to her pocket dimension?

He noticed that his trusty companion and close friend wasn't with him as soon as he woke up. Perhaps she'll reappear after a bit to see if he's still asleep.

"Let's see... where am I exactly again?" Looking around the place, it was very open with space. He blinked as he looked into the sky. "That's right... I'm near Mt. Yougou... this is where we stopped after Paimon suggested for us to to the shrine and speak with Yae..."

Grumble

His stomach let out a huge grumble. He shakes with discomfort as he holds his stomach.

"I'm hungry but... Lumine isn't here to make me something." He plopped down against a tree after a bit of walking. The sounds of the stream water splashing and its flow fill the silence around him. "I'll just eat another time." He slouched against the tree and began to doze off again. His body will eat itself in the end, so thereby he doesn't need to cook for himself...

"Aether... you're so smart." He referred to himself in the third person. He blinked at the Electro Abyss Mage that was in front of him, be looked at him with its head tilted to the side. "Fluffy..." He reached out towards the Abyss Mage who formed his shield around itself, ready to attack the defenseless Traveler.

"W-What?!" The Abyss Mage cried out in shock as he saw Aether's hand simply bypass his shield with ease, it shattered and he felt Aether grab a hold of him.

"I didn't realize how warm you guys can be..." Aether mumbled who held the Abyss Mage close to him, close to his chest as he held it with a firm hold.

"H-Hey! What do you think you're doing?!" The Abyss Mage cried out. "Unhand me already!"

"No... Paimon isn't appearing for some reason. So for now you'll be my sleeping buddy." Aether ignored the thrashing and hissing from the Abyss Mage. He just continued to hug one of the creatures of the Abyss Order that his sister is the princess of. "Huh... now that I think about it... if Lumine is your princess, then that makes me a prince." He recalled the fact that his sister is known as the Abyss Order Princess.

"You there... Mr. Electro Abyss Mage." Aether called out, he looked down at the small fluffy enemy. "Go make me something to eat if you want." He let the Abyss Mage go who looked on with surprise. But was happy. Freedom!

"Eh?" The Abyss Mage looked at Aether with confusion. "Make you something to eat? Go make it yourself! Besides, am I not your enemy?"

"Mm... having enemies can be tiring. An enemy by definition is a being who is actively opposed or hostile to someone or something. Given if I had energy... I would consider you my enemy." Aether replied as he fully lays down on the grass. "I don't want to waste energy being enemies. I don't have much energy anyway. So as of now, I don't see anyone as my enemy."

"..." The Abyss Mage can only grumble. What is wrong with her majesty's brother? The boy doesn't even act like the stories that tell him to be. Ruthless, active, strong... well he's probably still strong despite his laidback attitude as of now.

"You can leave now if you want... I just wanted to hold you because you were warm. Sorry for breaking your shield. I'm pretty sure you can regenerate it again." Aether waved off.

"You're letting me go?" The Abyss Mage can only look in surprise. He's getting let off... scot-free?

"Mm..." Aether mumbled with a slow nod. "You can go away now, although I do hope Paimon makes me something to eat... I'm hungry.......... Oh, wait... Paimon doesn't cook."
