chapter 4- flirt.

It's been about a week sense my first day and everything is going well, me and robin have never been closer and me and Steve have became close friends.
I go to my car and drive to work. Once I get there i say hi to Steve and robin and we talk for a while. Some customers come up to us and Steve decides to try and ask one of them out but she rejects him. I don't get why anyone would reject him i mean c'mon.
"Oof, that was hard to watch." Robin says mocking him.
"Sorry man, i honestly don't know why she rejected you i mean your a great person and i for one think it's cute when you get nervous." I say without thinking.
I immediately start to blush as i realize what I said.
"Thanks y/n." Steve says... Blushing? Is he? I don't know maybe I'm making it up, i look at robin and see how exited she is after i said that, she's grown to ship us but she only told that to me.
"Look, maybe your coming off too strong. You just have to go with the conversation."
"Yeah, y/n should demonstrate." Robin says with a grin and i just shoot her a death glare.
"I actually wanna see that now so, will you?" He says mocking me and then looking to the next costumer Wich is a girl, i just let out a little chuckle from the irony and go up to her.
"Hey, welcome to scoops ahoy! What can I do for you?"
"Hi, i would like a chocolate ice cream."
"Coming right up, -i say scooping the ice cream and putting it on the cone- here you go.. sorry what's your name again?"
"Oh right, I'm Veronica."
"Well here you go Veronica, i always liked that name. Anything else I can get you?"
"No thanks, unless you would wanna give me your number?" She says giving me the money.
"Oh sorry -i say laughing - I'm afraid that wouldn't work out." I say handing he the change.
"Why? What are you a fag?" She says like one of those people who don't get rejected.
"Yeah actually, we'll have a nice day!" I say in response as she rolls her eyes and walks away.
I turn to robin who is red trying not to laugh. Once we make eye contact we just burst out laughing.
"Wait you're gay?"
"Yeah." I say trying to catch my breath after laughing.
"Oh.. ok, so why did you agree to go flirt with her?"
"Well, first off, i didn't flirt with her, secondly, i did it because you asked me to. you see the difference is that i didn't yell a pick up line when i saw her." I say making fun of him.
He shoots me a 'seriously?' face which made me laugh but when he saw me smiling he got happy.
"Or, the dingus just can't get any chicks."
"Hey!" Steve yells jokingly.
"look Steve just be yourself, then you'll see how charming you can be."
Robin walks out of the workers room were at to attend to costumers.
"Hey dingus your children are here!"
"Again?" He says opening the window.
Mike just rings the bell in response.
He lets them into the back.
"Be careful!"
"Hey kids, if you get us in trouble-" i say
"We're dead!" They say finishing my sentence.
After that we get back to work but suddenly the power goes off in the hole mall.
"Weird." I say.
Steve starts trying to turn the ligh on by messing with the switch.
"Yeah, that's not gonna work dingus." Robin says.
"Oh no?" He says doing it faster.
After a few seconds the power comes back on.
The rest of the day goes by normally and soon we go home.
