Chapter 9

(Max POV)

We were all anxiously waiting out in the Byers house waiting for the others to tell us anything on what was happening with them and Will. If you would have told me, even a month ago, that there was such things as scary monsters from alternate dimensions I would have laughed in your face and called you fucking crazy.
But now. I would call you crazy for having known that such things in this world exist.

Leaning against the wall of a hallway I looked around the house examining the walls and the others in here. My eyes followed the trail of drawings that apparently was a loose map of Hawkins. In the room to my left I heard Steve swinging his bat, the room next to that was Nancy and Dustin stress walking and then right in front of me was Lucas.

"If he finds out where we are will he sned those dog things after us?" I said breaking the silence that loomed over the house
"He won't find out" Lucas said making eye-contact with my worried eyes
"Yeah, but if he does"
"He won't ok" Lucas said reaching over and grabbing my hand gently "Until forever falls apart" he said
"What?" I laughed tightening my grip on his hand
"It's just a saying I say to myself whenever life gets hard or scary. I know it's stupid, but it helps me get through it" he said nervously as a blush crept onto his face while taking his hand away from mine

"No no I like it" I said reassuringly "Until forever falls apart?" I continued holding out my pinky to him
"Until forever falls apart" he said wrapping his pinky around mine.

(Present)

    Me and Dustin raced out of his house and quickly made our way to a place we knew would have the 'materials' we needed in order to find Eddie. Arriving at the Family Video Store we walked through the doors and found Steve and Robin watching the news at the front desk

    "Hey Steve" Dustin called out causing the two older teens to look over at us.
    "You see this?"
    "How many phones do you have?" Dustin said ignoring Steve's previous statement about the news
    "Someone was murdered"
    "How many phones do you have" Dustin said sternly to Steve

   "Two why?"
    "Technically three if you count Keith's" Robin said also breezing over Steve's statement. Dustin looked over at me with wide eyes as I nodded to him
    "Yeah three works" I said with a slight smile coming across my face. Dustin then took his backpack off launching it over the front desk counter and then sliding him self over it aswell causing Steve and Robin to yell at him annoyed and confused as to what he was doing. Instead of going on that route I just walked around.
  
    "What are you doing, man!" Steve exclaimed walking behind Dustin who was logging onto a computer
    "Setting up base of operations here"
    "Base of opperatons?"
    "Get off!" Steve exclaimed to Dustin
    "I need it!" Dustin fired back
    "For what?"
    "Eddie's friends phone numbers"
    "Oh Eddie. Your new best friend who you think is cooler because he plays your nerdy game" Steve said showing clear jealousy that he wasn't Dustin's only father figure anymore
    "Yes. I never said that" Dustin said taking offense to what Steve said to him.

    "Seriously, you guys. Maybe on a Monday you can play around like toddlers, but it's Saturday our busiest day" Robin said behind us picking up the tapes Dustin made fall on the ground
   "Robin, I empathize but this can not wait" Dustin said causing Steve to groan in annoyance
    "What cause calling Eddie's friends is an emergency?"
    "Correct!"
    "You want me to strangle him or do you what to?" Steve said in a low voice to Robin
    "We could take turns"

    "Can you fill them in while I do this?" Dustin said to me stressed by all the commotion going on around us
    "Fill is in on what?" Robin said looking over to me confused
