Caitlin lay in her bed, shivering. She had been ill in bed for the past few days. I can't be ill she thought, I have so much work to do. She managed to drag herself out of her bed, and grabbed her phone. She dialled the number of her work, and told everyone that she was ill and wouldn't be coming in for a few days. They reassured her that taking a few days off wouldn't kill her, and she deserved it, as she had been working nonstop for ages. She was told that they could manage, and to just rest and get better

Caitlin dragged herself out of bed, and got dressed. She couldn't stay in the house as her mum kept talking to her about doing what was right and why was she choosing to live like this? Caitlin shook her head, her mum didn't understand, she was happy like this, she didn't need anything else. Caitlin silently tiptoed out of the house, and went to the one place that she knew would bring her peace. She unlocked the door and went and lay down in her chair. There were so many memories here

"Oh Barry, where did it all go wrong?", she whispered, as a tear slid down her cheek

Caitlin and her friend entered the carnival. Caitlin smiled, as nothing had changed since her first visit, and she still felt like she did the first time that she came. Her friend went away exploring, as Caitlin ran to keep up

"Don't run off like that. Imagine that I'd lost you"

"Don't worry. I'm sure that he'd help you out and rescue you, like a knight in shining armour"

"Who? What are you on about?", asked Caitlin, scrunching up her face

Caitlin followed her friends line of vision to where Barry was standing

"What did you do?"

"Come on Caitlin, just talk to him"

"I told you I want nothing to do with him. Why did you do this?"

"Because he wants to talk to you"

"Stop it"

"Caitlin, I'm getting married soon, and leaving you soon. I just want what is best for you before I go"

"Really? What is that?"

"Your better then all of this. You deserve so much better"

"And you think I'd find it with him?"

"Maybe. I don't know. I just know that you deserve so much more"

"Thank you. You deserve so much more too, which is why I am glad that you are getting out of here. Me, who knows? If it's in my destiny, I will leave here"

"Caitlin, your destiny is standing right in front of you. Why are you refusing to acknowledge it?"

"Because. You know how I feel about the royal family. And anyway, do you really think that the family would accept me? No, because I'm a girl from a middle class family and background. Plus, in the off chance that they did, I could never fit in with them"

"Caitlin, you never know. You might. Even if you didn't, Barry would still love you. It wouldn't effect his love"

"Really? You seem to know a lot about Barry and his love for me"

"I can see it in his eyes, how much he loves you"

"Stop it. These are just words. Who knows what will happen?"

"You won't know unless you try"

Caitlin sighed. There was no getting through to her friend. She took a long look at Barry, and walked towards him

"What is your problem? What do you want? Why are you everywhere I go?"

Barry just looked at her and smiled

"No, no. This is wrong. This can't happen. We are worlds apart. Plus, do you really think that your family will accept me? No, they won't, because your family are too stuck up. They are too image conscious and status conscious and will never accept someone from a lower status"

"That won't happen. Plus, I'll give you so much love, that you'll forget everything else"

"That's just words. And plus, do you really think that if anything like that happened, that your love would be enough for me? Would it heal all my wounds?"

"Of course"

"Your delusional, if you think that. But if you truly believe that, go and tell your dad that you love me and want to marry me. I have a good idea of how he's going to react. But if you're dad loves you as much as you say, and will do anything for you, like you think, then you two can both come to my house and ask my parents for my hand. I won't refuse"

"Really?", asked Barry, not quite believing what he was hearing

"Really. Meet me in my shop tomorrow morning and tell me what happened. Until then goodbye"

Caitlin ran off with her friend, to enjoy the carnival. Barry watched them, smiling. She had given him hope that something could happen. Now he just had to convince his dad
