~ rooster pov ~
"ITS BEEN A PLEASURE FLYING WITH YOU ALL." maverick said. warlock stood next to him. "choose your two duels." warlock said.
"payback and fanboy, phoenix and bob." maverick said.
"and your wingman?" warlock asked.
"rooster." maverick said. i lifted my head up and looked at him.
"everyone be ready for spares." warlock said.
we all dispersed and everyone who needed to go to the tarmac went. i walked to my jet and heard someone call my name. i looked to see june running up to me.
"bradley, be fucking careful. please." she begged. i kissed her in the lips.
"don't worry about me sweetheart." i smiled. she looked at me and kissed me again. this time i grabbed her waist and pulled her close to me. "i love you." i said as she pulled away.
"i love you too bradley." she said. she turned around and walked off.
i walked around to find hangman standing in front of me. "give 'em hell." he said. he smiled then walked off. i went to go find mav.
~ time skip til everyone is in the jets ~
"dagger 1, up and ready." maverick said through the comms.
"dagger spare, on standby." hangman said.
"dagger 3, up and ready." phoenix said.
"dagger 4, up and ready." payback said.
"dagger two up and ready." i said.
"dagger one, launch."
"dagger two, launch."
"dagger three, launch."
"dagger four, launch."
once everyone was up in the air maverick started talking. i couldn't really hear him due to my nerves going hectic.
"daggers descending below radar." maverick said.
"affirmative, moving to dagger picture."
"dagger attack." maverick said.
"tomahawks airborne." i heard over the comms. i watched the tomahawks fly over head.
no turning back now.
"daggers into attack formation, enemy territory up ahead." maverick said.
payback came behind me as phoenix went in front of me.
"2 minutes and 30 seconds timer mark." maverick said.
"dagger 3, mark." phoenix said.
"dagger two, mark." i said.
"dagger four, mark." payback said.
we followed the valley terrain smoothly until mav spoke up.
"first sam sighting to your left." maverick said.
"we're good, we are below radar, it doesn't see us." phoenix said.
"and let's not keep that for granted." mav said.
"enemy bandits are inbound."
"what their range?" maverick asked.
"115 miles headed east."
