Theirs to love and protect ... forever!

3. Person omniscient narrator

Emily and Jake were so happy to see each other again. They spend the entire day together, talking and laughing. Big smiles were stretched across their faces, with joy shining in their eyes. The day before, the two mated couple woke up early in the morning, wrapped in each other's arms. Xavier woke up before his beautiful mate, and decided to wake her up with a delicious breakfast in bed, which his lovely mate ruined by waking up before he was done cooking.

Emily snuck up on her handsome mate, as he made breakfast looking so delicious in his naked glory. Her arms wrapped themselves around his defined waist, feeling every ripped muscle underneath his smooth skin. She stood on her tip toes and planted a loving kiss on his shoulder. She could shortly see the food he was making at the stove when she looked over his shoulder. The salivating smell of scrambled eggs, sausage and bacon filled the apartment, and the young woman couldn't keep in the moan that slipped past her sealed lips.

The sinfully moan caught the older male's attention immediately, and his muscles flexed as he stiffened. He shook the desire he felt off him, and turned to face his mate, and grace her with one of his so charming smiles, that if she was wearing panties, they would have dropped. A deep kiss was placed on her parted lips, as a blush took over her now rosy colored cheeks. She looked away from his dashing smile, shyly, making the man smirk at his cute mate.

"I was planning on waking you up with breakfast in bed, but I guess that's too late now" he chuckled.

Emily's cheeks took on yet another rosy hue, making her scoff at herself. She never imagined she would be the blushing type, but she couldn't help but think how she got so lucky to get a mate like Xavier.

"Oh, and by the way baby. I have a surprise for you" his deep voice interrupted her thoughts, bringing her back to reality.

She tilts her head with an excited grin on her face, "what is it?" she asks giddily, almost jumping in her place in child-like excitement.

Xavier chuckle with a small shake of his head, before answering his eager mate. "If I told you, it wouldn't be a surprise, would it?" he teases her, loving the way she blushes, and look up at him shyly.

"Besides the surprise isn't running anywhere, so let's eat first" He serve the food, placing a steaming hot plate in front of Emily. She digs in right away, as the hunger takes over. She hadn't realized how hungry she was, but it was to be expected after the night she and her mate have had.

Xavier watch Emily as she opens the door to the spare room, that Jake have slept in. He told his eager mate that the surprise was on the other side of the closed door. She was so excited, but also a little nervous when he told her it was behind a closed door.

What could it be? She wondered. Is it a baby room? I hope not, I'm nowhere near ready to be a mom, I'm too young – Emily's thoughts were all over the place, and she couldn't seem to get them in order.

She slowly opened the door and looked inside, but before she could register what was inside the mostly dark room a bundle of joy jumped in her arms, almost knocking her to the ground. A familiar voice screamed her name, as he jumped in her arms. She recognized the voice, and as she looked down at the boy cuddled in her arms, her eyes connected with big innocent brown eyes. A large grin took over her face as she lifted up Jake and spun him around in the air. The boy's giggles echoed in the hallway, as well as her laugher. Xavier couldn't help but smile at the joyful reunion they were having in front of him.

He cleared his throat to get their attention, "I'm gonna give you two some time alone to catch up"

They both offered him a happy smile, before entering the spare room. Emily took a seat on the bed, as Jake got comfortable on her lap. She snuggles him close to her, letting his familiar scent engulf her, making her hum in content. Jake curls up on her lap, enjoying the attention he's receiving from his friend. You can clearly see the happiness in their eyes as they cuddle.

Xavier went to his office to finish some paperwork he's been neglecting lately. Getting his mate back has been his first priority which has left him a ton of paperwork to do. He knew he could get through at least half of it, while his mate enjoys her time with her friend.

Emily is reading a book on the couch in Xavier's office, while he handles the last of his paperwork. A week have gone by, and they have spent most of the week getting to know each other better. After the day Emily and Jake got reunited, she returned to their bedroom, to fall asleep in her mate's arms.

Xavier have learned so much about his sweet mate, and he couldn't be happier. He finally had his mate by his side. He quickly found out that she loves reading and singing. He wasted no time in filling the empty library with all kinds of books to entertain his mate. She loves the library and has made it her mission to read every book it contains.

Emily have worked hard on letting her walls down around her mate and Jake. She has finally begun showing him the real her. She still has a hard time showing the pack members the real her, but she's working on it, and hope that one day, she can completely be herself without any restrains, holding her back. It feels like a heavy weight have been lifted off her shoulders, and she can finally breathe properly again.

With Xavier and Jake, she can be completely herself, and they love the woman behind the walls. She sings every night for Jake, and tug him in at night. It's become quite the habit for both of them. The boy can't sleep without getting a good night song from her, which has been a problem a few times, when she's been a little too busy, but usually they enjoy their little night ritual.

Emily has also told Xavier the truth about her past, and all the thing Alpha Raphael did to her. It was hard, harder than she thought, and she couldn't keep the tears from streaming down her cheeks. Xavier had a hard time hearing about her horrible past, and to say he was mad, was an understatement. He was furious, and all he wanted was to rip his mate's tormentor to shreds. He kept his cool, as much as he could, and focused on comforting his crying mate, instead of going on a killing spree. They got through it all, and held each other for the rest of the day.

After a lot of convincing and pleading, Emily finally gave in, and joined the pack and took the place as Luna. The Luna role came naturally to her, much to her surprise, and she have gotten a lot closer to the pack. There is still a long way to go, before the pack members trust her completely, but it's progress. Jake also joined the pack, and his and Emily's relationship have changed from friends to family. She has started seeing Jake as her own pup, and she really enjoys motherhood.

Becoming a Luna and mother has definitely changed Emily, many would say to the better, but it's still a struggle some times to accept and embrace her new life. After living on her own for so long, the pack life needs some time to getting used to. The things she has done to survive, has given her a lot of regret. Regret she never felt before, but she knows that, that regret means she's becoming more human, and less animal. The pack life snuck up on her, and she enjoys it more than she thought she would. It feels good to not always be alone, and have someone by her side, that loves her.

Xavier and Jake have spent a lot of time together too, and he have taken over the dad role. He plays ball with him, and take him on runs in forest. Jake loves spending time with him, but Emily is still his number one, much to Xavier's disappointment. Xavier have always wanted pups, and to him, Jake is his nonbiological pup.

Jake is now theirs to love and protect ... Forever!
