Naruto's point of view:

"N-Naruto?" Granny Tsunade asked. I ignored her though I didn't feel like talking and being held by Shikamaru. He was warm and gentle unlike Sasuke. "Just what happend to you?" She asked.

"Don't you think that's a little to forward to ask?" Shikamaru said protecting me from the question. "Don't you think you can ask about it later. I'm tired and I want to go home." He stated.

"Understandable, Neji report to me tomorrow morning and tell me what happend. Shikamaru take Naruto to your house for the night and take him to the hospital in the morining. We don't know if Sasuke or Orochimaru " She allowed us to leave. Our group separated and parted way when we left the Hokages building.

"Good night Naruto, welcome home," Ino said with a smile.

"Welcome back," Kiba answered.

"We sure did miss you," Brushy Brow added.

"I can't wait to see you all patched up and going on missions again!" Sakura said pushing his bangs out of his face again.

"Thank you, thank you, thank you all!" Tears were flowing down my face. They all turned to me with an shocked expression on their face. It was like they didn't reconise me.

"Shhhh," Shikamaru said holding me tighter. Wasn't he tired of carrying me. I tightened my grip on his shirt.

"It was our fault you had to go through all that and we couldn't save you sooner." Kiba said walking up to me. He started rubbing my head and said. "Just return to being your happy self." Everyone nodded in agreement but Shikamaru was giving a look to Kiba as if saying "Back off."

I leaned into Shikamaru more and his grip tightened. His hand was pressing on one of my scars on my back and I winced in pain. It stung, Kiba stopped rubbing and messing with my hair and walked off with the others.

They are alone now and walking to Shikamaru's house:

"You have been carrying me for a while aren't you tired." I asked.

"I'm not tired your practically weightless. Aren't you hungry?" He asked with a gentle tone, nothing like Sasukes and the thought of Sasuke made me flinch which worried Shikamaru. "Are you ok? I see my house we aren't too far just another minute and I'll tend to your wounds."

"I-I'm fine, you don't need to worry about my wounds."I said hoping he wouldn't tend to them. It would only frighten him.

Shikamaru's point of view:

This idiot thinking I'm tired from carrying him. I was so happy to be with him again I didn't want to let go. That stupid Kiba touching his hair like that, I know what his intentions are. That bastard and I though he accepted that me and Naruto were together.

"I-I'm fine, you don't need to worry about my wounds." Naruto stuttered. I don't get it why would he say not to worry about it. Was there something he didn't want me to see. His fishnet shirt on covered a lot surprisingly so I could only see his pale skin. And with my vest on him I could only see his arms clearly.

"No I'm going to tend to your wounds whether you like or not." I stated refusing to dismiss his state. I walked up to the door and leaned against the door to open it without dropping Naruto. "I'm home," I sighed. I moved out of my parents house about a month ago so I had a small apartment but it was big enough for two people to live in. I had made sure of that when the day came that we saved Naruto. Naruto let out a breath of relief to hear that we were at my apartment. I switched the light on and set Naruto on the couch. He winced every time I touched his back. I walked off into my bedroom to grab an first aid kit.

"I told you, y-you didn't need to worry about it." He struggled to sit up on the couch.

"And I thought I told you I didn't care." I looked at him. His hair was longer now, his hair barely passed his chin. He was pale from being inside away from the sun too often. I sat next to him and grabbed the vest requesting for permission to take it off. He nodded and helped. "I need to see your back is that okay? You wince every time I touch it. I said holding his hand. He had chills without the vest.

"Just don't freak out," he whispered. Freak out!? It only made me worry even more. He turned his back to me and helped take off the fishnet shirt wincing in pain. He revealed many whip marks that had cut through his skin. They were everywhere on his back. Who could do this to someone. I grabbed his chin from behind to only feel drops of tears. I turned his face to the side so I could see a part of his face. He was crying, he was tightly shut his eyes.

"Naruto-" I said almost letting tears fall down my face. I lightly touched his back and he responded with a flinch. I pulled my hand back. I didn't even think you could lay down with the scars he had. He still had the damn collar on which upsetted me even more. "I'm so sorry-," I said letting a tear fall down my face. "I should've been with you and done a better job of protecting you and this would have never happend. If only I was smarter like my dad you would have never had to go through this." I cried.

"Shhh, its not your fault. Besides this could've been worse if you hadn't showed up." He tried to calm both of us down. "Just cover it up and I'll be fine." He managed to smile even while he was crying. I swore on that moment that I would never leave his side willingly. That I would do a better job of protecting him.

"Okay," I said calming myself down.

Time skip:

I finished bandaging him up and decided to make some instant ramen I had.

After they ate:

"S-shikamaru?" Naruto said attempting to walk over to me.

"Woah sit back down, don't rush yourself." I said concerned.

"D-do you still love me?"
