The festival continues and so does the fun. Tengen-sama shows you his skills everywhere he can and sometimes you need to flex too. You're not as dependent on him as he thinks.

He's touching you all the time. May it be just stroking over your arm or petting your head. It very much feels like you're his and everyone else seems to get it too. They look at you in awe.
It's relieving to see how chill Tengen-sama is with the closeness and how he doesn't care about others.

Almost like you're the only things he sees.

It doesn't keep going with one sake as Kyōjurō-san joins you already drunk. Even Kanao drinks sake with you as you find her in front of the stage, listening to the singer.
As she watches Tengen-sama and you she smiles.

Not a lot of the hashiras join the festival but stay behind the house where it's more quiet.
You're a bit sad that Haganezuka-san isn't here tho. It's been a while since you last saw him. You bet he's got a lot to tell you.

Just then you remember that Oyakata-sama wanted to tell you something.

Yawning you face Tengen-sama who sits next to you on a bench discussing with Kyōjurō-san who sits on the other side of the table. The tables behind and next to you are filled so it's difficult to understand each other properly.

"I'll be right back" you say loud enough.

Tengen-sama stops and looks at you.
"All right darling. Don't keep me waiting for too long" he answers.

You nod and raise.
Kyōjurō-san looks at you with eyes wide open.
"I get the feeewling that there's sumsing between you" he muffels with a drunk voice.

You don't answer him as he might forget about it anyways and leave the table. You hear Tengen-sama chuckle.

With a fast beating heart you walk over the place. You try to blend out everything around you as it is way too filled with people you wouldn't recognize anyone anyways. The more interesting it is that you very much notice three certain women standing at the bar. They're chatting with the barkeeper and have their backs turned to you. You remember their names pretty well. Suma, Makio and Hinatsuru.
It annoys you to seem them here even though they have every right.
Hopefully they aren't here to get in touch with your master again...
Shaking your head you go around the corner of Oyakata-sama's house. It's weird, being with the other hashiras all alone. You don't really know them.

To your surprise even the ones who aren't participating on the festival aren't here.

Oyakata-sama, two of his daughters, Giyu-san and a hashira with long black hair with green tips sit around the table and talk.
As Oyakata-sama spots you he nods at you and smiles.
"Join us" he says and leaves you the decision on where to take a seat.

Giyu-san briefly looks at you while the other guy seems fascinated by your appearance. You don't keep the eye contact. He's kinda creepy.

"Do you enjoy the festival so far?" Oyakata-sama wants to know.

"Yeah. It's really fun. I'm amazed by the singer. That's the least I would have expected to see here" you respond.

"I'm happy to hear that" Oyakata-sama says and looks at one of his daughters who holds his kimono tightly .

"She's a friend of mine" the unknown hashira interrupts.

You're really not sure if he's ever been to any meeting where the other hashiras were.

"Oh, cool. She's very pretty. And talented." you answer with an awkward smile.

"I'll tell her"he responds calmly.
He looks like he's lost in thoughts.

There's a break.

"I'm sorry, who are you again?" you ask.

"Call me Tokito-san."

You nod.

At least he's chill.

Oyakata-sama looks at the hashiras and seconds after they rise and decide to take a look at the festival.

Now it's only Oyakata-sama, his daughters and you.
He clears his throat.
"Y/n...I have a few questions as I noticed a change in your behavior and mental health" he begins.

His daughters stare at you.

"Are you happy to be with Uzui-san? Do you want to stay with him?" he asks.

You know how the question is meant. Oyakata-sama isn't the one who interferes with things that aren't meant for him. He just cares about you and wants to objectively know about you.
You owe him your life so he's allowed to ask every personal question he wants to ask.

"Uhm...yes, I enjoy being his student. Even though he isn't the best teacher."

Oyakata-sama laughs.
"I am happy for you. That means I shouldn't be worried. Uzui-san is a very good protector. I've know it the second I first met him."

You nod.

"Honestly I am very proud of your development since I sent you to Uzui-san. You can proudly call yourself a Kinoe. And there's another thing. Some of the hashiras suggested you as a new member of them. It's not the time yet but I want to know your opinion on this" Oyakata-sama offers.

Wait. What.
Which hashiras did this? And why? You're not close to being as strong as them, are you?

"I... don't know...That's very much...like I'm grateful of course but...I need some time to think about it" you stutter.

Oyakata-sama smiles.
"Of course. Take your time."

You as a hashira? That's absurd.

"Do you want to talk about anything else?" Oyakata-sama wants to know.

"No, I'm good."

"Then you may go back to your friends."

Your friends? He means Kanao right?

Confused you stand up and bow to him and his daughters. Then you leave Oyakata-sama behind and return to the festival.
You can spot a lot of familiar people sitting on your table now. However the seat next to Tengen-sama isn't taken.

Pushing the offer out of your mind you get back to the party vibe and walk to your friends.
"Greetings Tanjirou!"
