"Mommy?" A child's voice whimpered, tapping on a sleeping woman when she didn't answer, "Mommy, wake up."

"What is it, dear?" The woman mumbled, one of her eyes opening only to see a young Aurora with tears in her eyes, "What's wrong?"

"..nightmare.." She whispered, "There was a red-eyed man, he tried to bite me."

The woman sat up, placing her hand on the girl's cheek, "it sounds like it was a terrible dream, you must have been so scared."

"Uh-huh, he was scary." She quickly nodded her little head, causing a small laugh from her mother.

"It will be alright, my darling girl, Mommy's here." She comforted, pulling the small girl up onto the bed, and pulling her into an embrace, "Mommy will always be here for you, okay?"

"But what if the scary man comes back?" Aurora looked timid as she hugged her mother, glancing around as if the man would jump out at her.

The mother reached over her and grabbed a candle, "You see this? The light will scare away the monsters, they can't get you."

Aurora looked up at her with gleaming eyes, tears were forgotten, "Really?"

The woman smiled, pulling her into a tighter embrace as she set the candle back down, "Really."

"If I'm not here, although I always will be, just remember the light."

Sitting in a small cabin in a forest, sat a mourning Aurora. She had lost control and lost what was most precious to her, her family.

The entire cabin was dark, but she could still see the blood on her hands. As many times as she had scrubbed her body down, for some reason the vision of a village's blood on her hands, made her shake.

"The light will scare away the monsters.."

Perhaps it would, maybe the blood would finally disappear.

She rushed towards the half-burnt candle on a bookshelf. Beside it sat matches, with which she lit the candle.

Sitting back down in her spot, the candle in front of her, did nothing but sadden her. Her body shook with dry sobs, no longer being able to produce tears.

She just wanted her mother back, her papa, and her brother. She shouldn't have let herself get out of control.

"Mommy, are you going to leave us?" An innocent-looking Aurora asked dirt smudged on her face from a day of playing in the field.

Her mother looked over, stunned by the young girl's question, "What makes you ask such a thing, you silly girl?"

"Ellie's mama left, remember? Pastor David said she went to a better place." Aurora looked confused, "Why didn't she take Ellie?"

"Ellie's mommy got really sick, honey." Her mother sighed sadly, crouching down in front of her, "She's in Heaven with the angels now."

    "But why'd she leave Ellie?"

"A mother never leaves her child," The woman took Aurora's hands within hers, "Ellie may not be able to see her but she will always be there, by her side just as I will be by yours."

Aurora's eyes widened in panic, "You're leaving?"

"Not for a while, but remember that I'll always be with you. By your side every step of the way, don't you ever doubt that." She smiled at her daughter, squeezing her hands.

"I love you, Mommy." The girl whispered as she pulled her mother into a hug, "Please don't leave."

"And I you." The woman told, "I will always be with you."

I apologize for the short filler chapter but the site I was using for the script isn't working at the moment so we're reduced to flashbacks at the moment because I really hate having to pause and unpause movies to get the dialogue. We should be back up soon!!

I'd also like to thank you all for 5k, almost 6k reads!! I really do appreciate it as didn't think this story would get this far. I do apologize for taking down my other story but I didn't quite like how sloppy it looked so I'm tweaking it up a bit before reposting it!! Once again I really do appreciate all of you reading and voting on my story!! <33
