Val's POV
Jay pulls into the parking lot of the hospital and gets out and comes over to my side. I unbuckle my seatbelt and just as I was about to step out, Jay stops me.
"I got you. Don't worry" he says trying to pick me up
"It's okay, I can walk" I say as I step down and my legs collapse right away
"Clearly you don't" Jay says picking me up
I wrap my arms around his neck and lean against his chest as he walks inside.
"What's going on here? What happened?" Will asks taking us into one of the rooms
"Her "fiance" is what happened" Jay says
"My luck in men right?" I chuckled slightly
"Not funny" Jay rolled his eyes
Will exams the bruises and stitches up the cuts.
"You are all set. Just take it slow. I don't want to see you here until another long time" Will says
"I can't promise you that, but I'll try" I say
"Thanks Will. I'll take care of her. Don't worry" Jay says
"Yeah sure. Can I go see the kids now?" I ask
Jay wheels me out on a wheelchair. We reach the truck and he helped me up. We then headed towards the precinct. Erin got the kids and told us to meet her there with the team.

Jay's POV I pulled up to the precinct and helped Val out of the truck. Then helped her upstairs to where everyone else was.
"Mama!" both Kai and Halston said while running towards Val
"Hi my babies! Oh I've missed you so much!" Val says crouching down and embracing them both in her arms
"Where's Alex?" Kai asks
"We're not gonna see him for a little while" Val says
"What about the wedding?" Halston asks
"I don't know yet. But soon" Val softly smiles
"Jay, did you know my daddy's name is also Jay" Halston says walking over to me
"Yeah. It's so cool. I also have the same color eyes as you" Kai adds in
"That is super cool bud. Think you'll meet him one day?" I crouched down ruffling his hair
"We hope so!" both kids say at the same time
"It's time to go babies" Val says
"Aww, we want to stay here with Jay" Kai whines
"No honey. Jay has to work" Val says
"I'm actually off today. I would love to hang out with you both and your mom" I say while looking at Val
"Please mama?" Halston batted her eyes
Valerie was hesitant at first but nodded in agreement.
"You guys go have fun. We got it from here" Erin adds
"We'll call you if there are any updates on the cases we've been working on" Adam says
"Thanks guys" I said before heading downstairs with Valerie and the kids
"Can we swim when we get home?" Halston asks
"Whatever you both want" Val says
"Are you going to swim Jay?" Kai asks
"Of course. We gotta have lots of fun right" I say before buckling both kids up
"You really don't have to be there Jay. I'm just gonna be resting while watching the kids. They'll be fine" Val says
"Again, you can't get rid of me that easily" I say
Val rolls her eyes and the car ride was silent the whole way.
Once I reached Valerie's house, I got the kids out of the car and Val let us in. The kids ran straight upstairs to change into their swimming clothes.
"Please wait for me. No ruffling through your closets!" Val yells up the stairs
"Go get some rest. I can handle it" I reassured her
"You can help them change. I'm gonna go and clean up the mess in my room and then I'll change and meet you guys outside when I'm done" Val says before heading upstairs
I follow her up the stairs and headed into the kids room.
"Jay, which one! Pink or yellow!?" Halston asks while holding up her swimsuits
"What's your favorite color?" I ask
"Pink! I'll wear the pink one!" Halston says
"Kai so you need any help?" I asks as i see him struggling with putting on his swim trunks
"I got it!" Kai says

Val's POV I walk into my room and everything was such a mess. There was blood all over the sheets. I pull them off the bed and put them all into one pile. I disinfected everything before putting new sheets on. I cant believe I got myself into another toxic relationship again. I really thought Alex was the one. Everything was fine until Jay came back into the picture.
I sit on the bed and just rethink about all of my life decisions. The decisions that led to what's happening now. What I did so far in life that this is my reality. Nothing is ever perfect. Being a mother at such a young age and starting a career that I never thought I would be doing is really taking a mental toll on me. I want what's best for my kids now and for their future. Everything is just happening all at once and I just can't handle. I just need to let it all out.
I break down in tears and just cried. This is my reality and I have to live with it. I cried until there were no more tears left.
"Hey, we'll be heading down now..." Jay says walking in with the kids
"Mama why are you crying?" Halston asks
"I just love you both so much" I cried
"We love you too" Kai says running over and embracing me along with Halston
"Are you okay?" Jay asks
"Yeah I'm fine. I'll be down. Go have fun with Jay guys" I sniffled
Jay takes the kids down to the pool. I cry a little more before finishing up with the cleaning.
