Val's POV I woke up the sound of Jay's alarm. I checked the clock and it was 6am. It's getting harder to get up for work nowadays since being pregnant. I'm a lot more tired than usual.
"Good morning beautiful" Jay says leaning over giving me a kiss on my forehead
"Good morning handsome" I said
Jay gets out of bed and makes his way to the bathroom. I get up and open the blinds and make the bed. I go out to the kitchen and make some coffee and breakfast for Jay. I whip up some eggs and peppers and make an omelette with slight cheese. I put it on a plate and set it to the side for Jay. After I make my way back into the room and got ready.
I brushed my teeth and showered. Did my makeup simple for the day and hair up halfway. As I change into my clothes, I had trouble with the pants. My stomach grows two times bigger than usual with the twins. I'm halfway through the pregnancy and everything is starting to not fit.
"Babe, what am I gonna do!? I'm huge" I pouted
"I think you look adorable. Put on a comfortable dress. I'm sure Hank won't mind." Jay says kissing my belly

"This is all your fault" I laughed
"Hey, I'm not the one who is looking sexy all the time" Jay says walking over and smacking my ass before leaving the room
"JAY HALSTEAD" I gasped

Jay's POV I finished my breakfast and waited for Valerie to be done. I sit down on the couch and and turn on the tv and watched the news for a bit.
-10 minutes later-
"Okay I'm ready" Val says coming out
"You look perfect" I said
I turned off the tv and grabbed the keys. We both headed out to the truck. I opened the door for Val and helped her get in. I then got into the driver side. I started the engine then drove to work.

"Can you believe that we're gonna be parents in less than three months" Val says
"I know it's crazy. But I'm so ready. I'm ready to start this family with you Valerie" I said
"Me too. I just can't wait to watch you struggle" Val laughed
"Please. I'm gonna be a pro by the end of the first night" I laughed
We arrived at work and we both headed inside.
"Good morning to my favorite couple. How are you feeling mama" Trudy asks Val
"Oh you know tired but pulling through" Val says
"That's the spirit. Let me know if you need anything" Trudy says
"Of course. Thank you" Val says
We made our way upstairs and met up with the gang. Everyone was busy sorting through their files and doing paperwork. Val and I both take our seats at our desk and begin to do paperwork as well.
"Okay, listen up guys we have a serious case to solve. This guy right here is a leader of a serious drug ring. His name is John McGiver. I want you to know his name, study his face, find out where he lives, who works for him...etc. I want him found and locked up" Voight said pinning John's picture up on the board
"You got it boss" Ruzek says
"Okay so what I found was he used to live down on the further south side of the city. He has a few men stationed out there to bring their products in" Burgess says
"Yes. I also found that he recently moved on this end of the city a few weeks ago and is currently working at the biohazards factory" Erin says pinning up a picture of the factory
"Alright, let's split up. Jay and Erin you go over to the factory. Adam and Kim you both head over to the other end of town and find out what you can. Find where the men are staying and bring them in. Valerie and Kevin you both look through his past and try to run through some surveillance footage from the streets John goes the most. Al and I will go his place. Everyone keep me updated". Hank says
Everyone grabs their stuff and gears up. I put my belt and vest on and wait for Erin.
"Be careful out there" Valerie says
"Of course. I'll be back in no time" I said kissing her forehead
Erin and I leave and head out to the truck. We start to make our way to the factory.
Once we arrived, we got out of the truck and made our way inside. No one was insight. Half of the machines were down. We both pull out our guns and scan the area carefully.
"Do you smell that?" Erin asks
"Yeah it's coming from over here" I said walking over to a door that leads to the basement
We both walk down to the basement only to discover dozens of bags of cocaine and heroine. We scan the room and no one was here.
"Hey Serg, we found the drugs. There's about over 3000 kilos here" I radioed
"Serg, we found two bodies" Kim radioed
"We found another 500 kilos here at his house. This just turned into a double homicide case. We'll meet back at the precinct" Voight radioed
Erin and I pack all the drugs up in the bag when we were struck from behind. Everything went dark until we heard voices. I opened my eyes and tried to move but I was tied to the chair and so was Erin.
"Well look who we have here, Mr. & Mrs. detective" John says waving his rifle around
"Let us go John" Erin says
"No can do lovebug. You see, now that you know who I am and what I do, I can't let you go that easy. The only way is to kill you both" John says
"We can work this out" I said
"You got twins on the way don't ya" John says
"Don't you dare lay a finger on my family" I said through gritted teeth
I felt around the chair for anything sharp and I felt a loose screw. I took one end of the rope and began sawing it up against the screw.
"Oh I have so many plans. You just watch them unfold" John says before leaving
"We're getting out of here" I said as I sawing the rope faster
"Jay hurry" Erin panics
The ropes break and I untie myself. I help Erin out of hers and we both head out of the basement. John took everything leaving us with nothing. He took the keys to the truck as well. I grab a rock and smack the window. Erin and I got in as I try to hotwire the car.
"C'mon Jay. We need to catch up with them" Erin says
"C'mon c'mon c'mon" I said rubbing the wires together until it starts
I drive back to the precinct and update the gang what happened. Of course Valerie gets involved in these situations. Why can't she have a break. Why do these criminals have an obsession with her. No matter how hard I try to keep her safe she always ends up hurt.
"Thank god you're okay" Val says hugging me
"I'm always okay. I'm glad I'm here with you" I said hugging her back
