"(Y/n) (l/n) and..." Mr. Richard set the paper with your name on it aside and took another piece of paper from the glass bowl.

He unfolded it and said, "(Y/n) and Hiccup Haddock!"

Everyone in the classroom gasped. Including you.

Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III was like, the heartthrob of the school. He was taller than you, had shaggy brown hair, a few freckles on his face, and forest green eyes.

Almost every girl had a crush on him or flirts with him, but you didn't do those disgusting things. He already had a girlfriend anyways. You preferred to get to know a guy first before deciding if you liked him or hated him.

He was smart...

That's all you knew about him. You never really talked to Hiccup, so this project will be 100% super awkward.

You sat uncomfortably in your seat as you felt the glares of every girl in the classroom.

You looked at Hiccup who was seated at the front row. All the boys gave him pitying looks.

"I'm sorry you got stuck with a partner like me..." you mumbled as you played with your pen.

After everyone else already got their partners, almost everyone seemed pretty happy.

"For the project, you will be making a presentation about the topic!" Mr. Richard practically shouted. He loved shouting. "It must have at least 20,000 words! I will be giving you 2 months to finish this!

"It needs to be good! If it isn't, then face the consequences!"

Yay, two months of awkwardness, you thought as the school bell rang.

"Goodbye class!" Your teacher said.

You stood up and followed the others out of the door. You were about to step out of the room when you felt a hand land on your shoulder.

You froze and turned pale. Maybe it was (b/n)...

"Please don't hurt me," you whispered.

"What are you talking about?"

You stiffly turned around to see Hiccup. You had to crane your neck upwards just to look at his face.

Why does he have to be so tall?!

But everyone seemed to be taller than you anyways.

His face showed no expression at all.

"N-nothing...May I h-help you?" You asked him. Your hands were still cold and they were shaking.

"Meet me at the bus stop after school," Hiccup flatly answered before walking past you to follow the other students.

You pursed your lips. Two months. You're gonna work with him for two months. It's only been seconds and he only spoke a few words, but you were already starting to hate him. Yep, it's official.

You let out a sigh and slowly walked to your locker. On your way, you bumped into (Fnd/n).

She immediately grabbed your shoulders and made you face her. "(Y/n), is it true that you are partners with Hiccup in your Science project?"

How the heck did she know? "Yeah, why?" You curiously asked.

"Dude, the news is spreading like wildfire. 'The heartthrob of the school gets partnered with the runt!" She exclaimed. Her hands were flying everywhere.

You rolled your eyes. "Gee, thanks for mentioning that."

(Fnd/n) stayed by your side until you reached your locker.

You opened it and stuffed some things inside. You also got your English book so you could try your best to study later.

"Oh! My mom's there! See you!" (Fnd/n) said and ran out of the building.

You closed your locker and slowly walked towards the place where you will be meeting Hiccup. The bus stop was only a short distance from the school, so you didn't walk that far.

You were gonna miss the bus, but you usually do and you usually walked home instead. Your mom doesn't mind you coming home late. As long as you text her, you're good to go. You sent her a quick message while you walked.

When you arrived, you sat on the bench and removed your backpack. You placed it beside you and started to wait.

Within a few minutes, Hiccup came running your way.

"Sorry I'm late," he panted. "Some girls chased me."

You raised an eyebrow. "Must be hard."

Hiccup sat down next to you. "It is," he confirmed.

"What happened to your eye?" He asked out of the blue.

"None of your business," you spat.

He looked hurt for a fraction of a second. You felt a little guilty and decided to change the topic.

"So, why did we go here?" You asked.

"To discuss about the project," he answered. "Mr. Richard said the topic was about evolution right?"

"No, he said it was about ducks," You sarcastically said. Yes, you still hated him.

He ignored your comment. "When you weren't listening, he said we could choose between human evolution or nature's evolution."

"Can we do human evolution?" You said. "Nature's evolution seems to...wide?"

He nodded. "Yeah, exactly."

"So, where are we going to do the project? Your house or my house?" You asked.

Hiccup shrugged. "Does your parents allow boys in your house?"

Your eyes widened. "I-I don't know..."

"My house then," He said. "But ask your parents first. If they don't allow it, we could just work at the park or something."

"Sure," you mumbled.

Hiccup stood up. "We should probably get going now. It's getting late."

You stood up too and grabbed your backpack. "Yeah, bye..."

Both of you started walking away.
