Just a sad (and short!) chapter.
Vote and Comment please! The sky was gray and full of clouds, casting sad and dark shadows on the cemetery.
There were only a few people at your sister's and your parents' funeral. It was only (Fnd/n), her family, you, and some diggers that carried shovels.
All of you wore clothings that were colored black.
You wore a black lace dress that reached up to your knees. Anne let you borrow some of her dresses, and, surprisingly, you were both the same size.
She didn't come to the funeral because she thought it was too depressing, but you had a feeling that there was something more than that.
(Fnd/n)'s mom gestured towards the 3 coffins, one being smaller.
You nodded and took a deep breath, walking behind the coffins.
"My parents were good people," You began, trying to stop the tears that were forming around your eyes. "They took care of my sister and I, they taught me good things, they made sure that I was alright when they aren't.
"Then there was the fire. I didn't even get to see them one last time." You stared at the ground, a single tear rolling down your cheek. "They died, burned to death, but they didn't deserve to die!"
You walked to the smaller coffin where your sister was, and placed your hand on it.
"Then there's my sister. So young, full of mischief. She survived the fire, she got out of the house barely alive, but she died, too. She died in the hospital after fighting for a few hours. I would like to call her, my brave...little soldier..." You finished, walking back to the (Fnd/l/n) family, where her mom hugged you, for you were crying silently.
The grave diggers started digging the holes where the coffins would be placed, but you couldn't bear to watch it.
You were hurt too much.
"I'm sorry," you sadly muttered before breaking away from Mrs. (F/l/n)'s hug, running away.
They didn't even protest. They knew that you needed space, you needed to clear your mind.
You walked on the leaf-littered grass to a big but lonely oak tree that stood somewhere in the cemetery, the dry leaves crunching with each heavy step that you took.
You sat on the ground, leaning on the trunk, not caring if there were ants walking on it, and put your hands up to your face and began to cry.
"I miss all of you very much," you said between sobs. "I-I miss y-you."
You spent a few quiet moments crying.
Suddenly, you felt a hand land sympathetically on your shoulder.
Thinking it was a ghoul or a zombie, you quickly spun and placed a hard slap on whoever, or, whatever that was.
"Ow! Ah-" exclaimed a nasally voice that you've been longing to hear, strangely.
"Hiccup?" You said, wiping the tears from your eyes. You didn't expect him to come to the funeral.
"Hey," he said, holding his cheek where you had "accidentally" slapped him.
He was wearing a black tuxedo, with a white t-shirt underneath and a black tie. His usually messy, auburn hair was slicked back with gel.
Honestly, he looked a little weird. (But handsome XDDD)
"What are you doing here?" You softly asked, not having enough energy to be mad. Hiccup raised an eyebrow at this.
"What does it look like?" Hiccup jokingly said, sitting down next to you, but not too close though. He left enough space for a phantom to sit inbetween.
You sighed, your mind too weak to think of a comeback. You hugged your knees closer to your chest, taking a deep breath.
"Hey, are you okay?" Hiccup said, placing his hand back on your shoulder.
You shook your head. "No, I'm not! My family is dead and I-I...I miss them so much..." A few tears rolled down your cheeks, landing on your dress or the grassy ground below.
Then that's when Hiccup made a bold move.
Well, not really.
He scooted closer then draped an arm over your shoulder and pulled you close, making your face flash a shade of red.
Wait, what?
You didn't say anything, in fear that he would pull away. No one ever did this to before, and you were trying to make the best of it.
"What now?" you asked, and, as if on, cue, it started to rain slightly.
Hiccup pulled away, much to your disappointment, and smirked at you. He stood up and pulled you with him, away from the tree, where you could get rained on.
"Hiccup! It's freezing!" You told him, though that isn't entirely true. You just hated getting wet.
"Come on! Just, get your mind off things and have some fun!"
And that's when the two of you started running around.
Under the rain.
I am so sorry that it was very short. My birthday is coming in a few weeks, and I'm slightly sick. But not entirely, just sneezing and coughing, nothing serious.
