I felt a heavy thud hit my chest, jolting me awake.

My eyes shot open, as I looked around, at the empty darkness.

I was breathing hard, yet I felt no air.

Was I still dying?

The dark light scattered across my view.

I tried to sit up, but it felt as though my entire body had been shattered, as though I had turned into glass.

I achingly glanced over and saw Killian's lifeless body.

"K-Killian?" I asked, barely matching a whisper.

"Cordelia!" I heard my name being yelled, in a whispered tone.

I closed my eyes, feeling my head hurt from the noise around me.

The sound increased. "Cordelia!"

What has happened?

"Cordelia!" the voice yelled, making me jump to my feet.

How did I do that?

"Cordelia, you must feed!" the voice yelled, screeching through my ears.

Why did everything feel so sensitive?

I looked around, seeing no one near me.

"Who is here?" I asked, panicking.

"She needs to slow down!" a new voice yelled, making itself known.

I pressed my palms to my head. "Leave me alone!"

Suddenly a scent filled my nose, drawing me near. It was something sweet, like honey.

I began to crave it.

I licked my lips, wanting it.

"Grab her!" the second voice commanded.

I went to run, but I was soon pushed down, immediately feeling my back come in contact with the gravel.

I barely felt any pain.

"Bring the body!" the voice above me yelled.

The voice was so familiar.

Samuel?

"Samuel?" I questioned.

He gripped my hand. "You must try to relax, Cordelia"

I let out a cry. "What is happening?"

"You are transitioning" he said, making me panic more.

Transitioning?

Transitioning into what?

"Just breathe" Samuel advised.

How? There is no air!

"I know that it is difficult" he said, trying to soothe me.

"It hurts!" I cried, feeling something squeeze my heart.

"Get me away from that thing!" a deep voice yelled.

"She needs blood, no thanks to you" the second voice said, aggressively.

"Everything is happening too fast" I said, sitting up.

"It is a new speed, which you will certainly be feeling soon" Samuel said, placing his hand on my shoulder.

"Release me, devil!" the deep voice shouted.

I swear I could feel his heart beating quickly.

"I do not understand!" I cried.
