Chapter 6

I looked around, it was clean. Ellie seems to take good care of her little hut.

Y/N: Nice place you got here, looks cozy.

Ellie: Glad you like it.

I looked around the floor.

Ellie: What's wrong? You searching for something?

Y/N: Yeah, trying to find out where I'll sleep.

Ellie: On the ground?

Y/N: Well, you're gonna use the bed aren't you?

Ellie: Yeah, so are you.

Y/N: You serious?

Ellie: Why wouldn't I be?

Y/N: You don't have a problem sleeping with a stranger in the same bed?

Ellie: We're past that point, aren't we?

Y/N: We are, good to know you see it the same way.

Ellie: I'm gonna change real quick.

Y/N: Take your time.

She went to the bathroom while I sat down on her bed. It's not a big bed, it's obviously made for one person, but I think it's big enough for us.

Ellie came out of the bathroom with a tank top and shorts.

I looked at her and smirked.

I wanted to say something but she was faster.

Ellie: Don't.

Y/N: Don't what?

Ellie: Don't say it.

Y/N: Oh yeah, I forgot you don't like my compliments.

She rolled her eyes and sat down besides me.

Ellie: You're wrong.

Y/N: About what?

Ellie: I do like your compliments.

Y/N: Well at least you admitted it.

I said while putting my right arm around her.

I expected her to push me away, but she didn't, she snuggled up to me in a cute way instead.

Y/N: Ellie.

Ellie: Hm?

Y/N: Thank you.

Ellie: For what?

Y/N: For being on my side.

She nodded.

Y/N: And for trusting me.

Ellie: Thank you for not using my trust to run away from us or...you know...trying to kill me.

Y/N: How could I betray such a good partner like you?

She smirked.

Ellie: Good to know you think I'm a good partner.

Y/N: And also thanks for giving me my pistol.

She rolled her eyes and punched my shoulder playfully.

Ellie: You just can't let it go, can you?

Y/N: How could I? It's the first present that I got from you. First time is always special, right?

Ellie: Yeah yeah.

She yawned.

Y/N: Tired?

Ellie: A little. You?

Y/N: More than a little. Come on, let's get some sleep.
