After we spend almost the entire day in the room of requirements and left only to make it to our common rooms before curfew Fred and George refused to leave my side and somehow convinced me to sleep in their room. Fred and George shared George's bed and I slept in Fred's. for some reason when Lee saw me in the morning he didn't even look surprised actually I thought I saw some smugness on his face.

After we got ready for the day, the four of us waited for Neville in the common room and left for breakfast together once he joined us.

Once again Fred and George set me between them and Nev and Lea set in front of us.

During breakfast, Dumbledore announced the goblet of fire and that the names will be drawn after dinner tonight and I couldn't help but feel a bit smug that I'll have nothing to do with it. maybe a peaceful year will allow me to explore what's going on between me and the twins.

I convinced the twins to not try to put their names in the goblet by distracting them with planning for the shop and the day went by with a mischievous atmosphere of planning for all the products we'll have in the shop.

And when dinner came around I was feeling relieved and looked forward to having the library all to myself during the missions because I have no intention of attending any of them.

Dinner went by peacefully with excited chatter about the tournament.

And then it was time for the champions to be announced.

I should have known it was all going way too smoothly considering I was involved.

Fleur was announced.

Than Victor.

And finally Cedric.

And everything was well, Dumbledore had already started to walk towards the back room and I was letting go of the breath I didn't know I was holding when the fire flared again.

And my world stopped.

I knew it will be my name, 'who else would it be?!' i thought bitterly.

I set between Fred and George frozen as Dumbledore opened the note and looked around the room clearly for dramatic effect considering he knows full fucking well what table I was sitting in.

"HARRIET POTTER!" he declared with a glim in his eyes.

But I couldn't move I can't do this again. as I was sitting between Fred and George I could clearly hear Voldemort's voice say 'kill the spear!' And see Cedric's body drop.

"Harriet Potter!" he called again jolting me out of my flashback.

I stood up but didn't move.

I took my wand out and lifted it above my head.

"I Harriet Lillian Potter lady to the Ancient and Noble house of Potter hereby swear on my magic that I did not put my name in the goblet of fire and that I do not wish to compete in this tournament and will only do so if no other save option is available to me, so must it be!" I declared and glowed as the goddess accepted my vow before I numbly walked to the back room not actually registering anything that was whispered around me.

I walked into the room and locked eyes with Cedric "Potter what are you doing here?" He asked concerned and confused.

"Do they want us back outside?" Fluor asked.

"Miss Potter?" McGonagall asked and I turned to look at her.

"Minnie." I said in a voice that was way smaller than I intended like a little girl calling for her grandmother.

"What's wrong Harriet?" she asked while she somehow glided to my side faster than I've ever seen her move before as if following an instinct.

I looked up at her and for a second I didn't see professor McGonagall I saw my grandma Minnie and it broke me. I don't know what came over me but following pure instinct, I closed the distance between me and my grandma, hugging myself close to her and letting a few tears fall. I couldn't help but feel like a small child seeking the comfort of family.
