Chuuya froze when Dazai entered. Yosano, who could feel the tense mood in the room, left the room after a murmured apology. But not before she asked if she should take Daira with her. "No, she can stay. It's also about her. It would only be nice if we could get some privacy for a moment," Chuuya replied and thanked after Yosano nodded. After the doors had closed behind her, an unpleasant tension remained in the room. Stile spoke briefly then Chuuya, "Don't you want to sit down? It gets weird when you stand around here as if ordered and not picked up.". With one hand he pointed to the chair next to the bed, and after a moment's hesitation, Dazai sat down. His gaze fixed on his hands folded in his lap.He had expected Chuuya to scold him or at least throw accusations at him, but he didn't say anything. Carefully, Dazai raised his head and the sight that showed up to him made him almost forget to breathe.

Since he had only looked at the ground until now, he did not know how Daira was lying in Chuuya's bed, but when he saw Chuuya carefully combing through Daira's hair and Daira had smiled blissfully

Dazai feels as if he had observed something very personal but at the same time should be part of it. His train of thought was interrupted by Chuuya, who said, "What are you staring at? Do you want to tell me something?" " No, I...", Dazai stuttered. He didn't know what to say. Chuuya also didn't really know how to start a conversation or whether he wanted to talk to Dazai at all. However, both got help from their daughter who suddenly said:"Mom, did you actually hear what I told you while you were sleeping?" "I'm sorry my darling, unfortunately I don't, but I'm all ears." Dazai noticed how Chuuya's voice softened when he talked to Daira. "Dad and I went to a zoo yesterday and he said that your favorite animals are the Arctic foxes. Is that true?" Chuuya looked at her in disbelief. "Did you just call him Daddy?" Daira looked at him slightly confused, but before she could even say anything, Dazai said, "She knows just about everything. If you're mad at someone, be it at me." " I'm supposed to be mad at you? Not a piece!" replied Chuuya contemptuously. Dazai took a breath then said, "The others and I have been thinking about what could happen for you and Daira now that Mori has found you: the ADA could include you in the witness protection program and you could live with one of us, so you would always have a protector with you."

Chuuya looked at him suspiciously then asked, "What's the catch?" Dazai looked directly at him. "The only one who could accommodate you both is me."

Chuuya didn't know what to say. "Besides, Fukuzawa has already said that he wants to offer you a job offer in the ADA," Dazai quickly continued to cover up the awkward silence. But after he had finished his sentence, it was quiet again in the room. Until Daira said, "Oh please Mom. It's so cool with Dad!". Chuuya looked down at his daughter, who had a bright smile on her face. A smile he had never been able to resist. He sighed then replied, "All right, but only for Daira. After you, no hopes. I just want her to be able to experience something like an "intact family".

In his last sentence, he had drawn quotation marks in the air and Dazai had understood.

He shouldn't expect Chuuya to forgive him so easily, he just wanted to make Daira feel like family. Since she was so happy, he didn't want to take it away from her. Dazai had already noticed that Daira was everything to Chuuya. He had also known from the beginning that he had to try harder to win him back.

Yes, Dazai was about to win back Chuuya's heart and he wanted to realize that he still had feelings for him.

He had missed him, Dazai had to admit that quite honestly. After everything had been cleared, Dazai had let Yosano back in and she had checked Chuuya again. She found out that Chuuya didn't remember anything from the moment he opened Mori the door, but it didn't seem to be anything bad. She had asked him why her ability wasn't working, but Chuuya hadn't answered. However, she had told him that he had to stay there for one night to observe. It was hard but after much persuasion and the promise that they would come back tomorrow, Daira had finally broken away from Chuuya and had gone home with Dazai.
