When Chuuya and Dazai left Fukuzawa's office, they were met by a group of laughing ADA members. "What's going on here?" asked Dazai, surprised. Yosano, who was laughing, replied: "Daira told us that you can cook now. So why don't you cook us something? It's noon anyway." " No!" said Dazai. He was snapped. Why did everyone have to laugh about him being able to cook? What was so funny about that?

"Let's go," Chuuya said calmly, "he's a bit allergic to that right now. Daira, do we want to cook something for everyone together?"

Immediately everyone was thrilled. Daira had already talked a lot about Chuuya's cooking skills and everyone was eager to try something of him. Daira nodded enthusiastically and disappeared into the kitchen with her mother. After three-quarters of an hour, everyone sat anxiously at the table in the conference room, which Daira had set together with Atsushi, and waited for Chuuya to come in with the food. When the doors opened, Chuuya entered with a large pot. He put it on the table and said, "As a starter there is pumpkin soup with homemade bread. As a main course lasagna and for dessert I baked a cake."

Everyone looked at him with delight. During this time he had conjured up a three-course menu?

Dazai was the first to find his voice again: "Since when can you bake bread?". "The couple I stayed with runs a bakery," Chuuya replied. "Besides, I couldn't have done it without Daira's help." All eyes were also on the little girl, who looked proudly at the table, knife and fork in her hands. "Hey Daira, you can't eat soup with a fork. Take the spoon," Chuuya advised her. "Well, as far as I'm concerned, he can stay, but only if he's always cooking," Ranpo's voice suddenly sounded. No one had noticed how he had loaded a portion on his plate and started eating. "Fukuzawa has already hired him," Dazai replied. "Well then, welcome!" said Kunikida.

The others also greeted Chuuya warmly and he was a bit overwhelmed. He wasn't used to everyone being so nice to him. To get out of his embarrassment, he said, "So, let's get started?" Immediately he was handed plates which he filled with soup.

After the soup and the main course were eaten, Chuuya briefly left the room to get the cake. "Good housewife material! Dazai make an effort," Ranpo said. "What do you think I do all the time?" was the reply. Yosano let out a giggle. "What do you think about going on a family outing with him and Daira?" suggested Atsushi. Everyone looked at him silently. "Bad idea?" he asked uncertainly. "No. Super good idea!" replied Yosano enthusiastically. "Okay, but where to?" said Dazai thoughtfully. "Let Daira decide," Kunikida advised.

Dazai could only nod before the door opened again and Chuuya came in with the cake.

"I hope you're not already full and the cake expires," he said. "Nonsense, there's always room for sweets!" shouted Ranpo from the other end of the table. After the cake was gone too, to Chuuya's surprise, Dazai, Daira and he said goodbye to their new colleagues and made their way home. It was early afternoon but Chuuya was exhausted. As soon as they got home, he went straight to bed while Dazai sat with Daira in the living room and painted. After some time, the bedroom door opened and Daira stood in the room. "Mom, can we go on a trip tomorrow?" she asked uncertainly. Chuuya looked at her for a moment then said, "But of course honey. Where do you want to go?" " You know, Mom, I was never in Disneyland and everyone in kindergarten always tells them how great it is. But dad says it's very crowded and you might have problems with it."Chuuya thought for a moment then said, "Well, I have an idea. We'll go somewhere else, but I promise you it will be a thousand times better than Disneyland and then you can tell about it in kindergarten. OK?" Now Daira was excited. "Yes!" she cried.

"But tonight we will sleep through the night so that you will be fit tomorrow!" suddenly Dazai's voice sounded. Neither of the other two had noticed how he had come over and leaned into the door frame.

"All right, Daddy," she said a little more calmly. "Come on princess, we'll go for a bath before dinner," he said, disappearing into the bathroom with Daira.

Chuuya had to smile briefly from this gesture, then he got up and went to the kitchen to cook.

When Daira and Dazai came out of the bathroom, the whole apartment smelled of rice pudding and applesauce.

Chuuya was praised that evening by his daughter for the food and scolded by Dazai that he should actually rest, but all in all it had been a quiet day.
