[They enter a dark room, with broken pieces all around it.]

Hermione: I don't like this. I don't like this at all.

Harry: Where are we? A graveyard?

"That's not a graveyard," Draco muttered, confident, too confident, for some peoples liking.

Ron: This is no graveyard. [sighs] It's a chessboard. [Walks out onto the marble board and flames light, illuminating the board and GIANT players. The others come up with him.]

Harry: There's the door.

[They walk across the board, towards the door. Suddenly, as they reach a line of pawns, the pawns bring up their swords. The five jump and back up.]

"You have to play." McGonagall stated, her face serious, this wasn't where children should be.

Hermione: Now what do we do?

Ron: It's obvious, isn't it? We've got to play our way across the room. All right. Harry, Aurora, you take the Bishop's squares. Hermione, you'll be the Queen's side castle. Abigail, the King's side castle. As for me, I'll be a knight. [They all take their places.]

"RON IS HAVING HIS MOMENT!" Barty shouted with a smile unaware of the wary looks the people of the future eyed him with as they smiled softly, trying to be supportive, so blissful, so oblivious what happened to this world, what had he done.

Hermione: What happens now?

Ron: [aboard a horse.] Well, white moves first, and then...we play.

A heavy silence hung around the hall, how was there this much trouble for 11 year olds and why wasn't there an alarm on the door where Fluffy resinated, or a underage-wand-proof lock, children shouldn't be in that much trouble and they shouldn't be this versed in violence.

[A pawn on the other side moves forward. Ron studies the game.]

Hermione: Ron, you don't suppose this is going to be like... real wizard's chess, do you?

"NO." Molly shouted face sturn as she captured Ron in her arms glaring at anyone who looked towards her son, her precious, youngest boy, he'd been through too much, they all had.

Ron: You there! D-5! [A black pawn moves forward, diagonal to the white pawn. The white pawn raises its swords and smashes the black one. The five jump.]

Ron: Yes, Hermione, I think this is going to be exactly like wizard's chess

Ron: Yes, Hermione, I think this is going to be exactly like wizard's chess.

The worry reflected onto those of the hall many left un-shown by those doused in green no matter what happened, remain stoic.
