Before the game started I felt my phone buzzing. I took it out of my pocket and saw that Enzo was calling me on FaceTime. When I answered I saw both Enzo and Gio on the screen.

"Hey, why are you calling, aren't you starting soon?" I asked them.

"We found you, we just couldn't see what jersey you were wearing so we called you so you could stand up and show us." I looked onto the field and saw them looking at me expectedly. So I stood up and turned around so they could see what I did to their jerseys.

"What do you think? Do you like what I did with them?"

"It looks amazing sorella! Thank you for coming today. We have to go, the game is about to start." Gio said.

"Alright, good luck, I'll see you guys after the game. Bye."

"Bye sorella." They both said and ended the call.

Luciano's POV

Throughout the whole game I kept my eyes on Val. She looked excited and happy every time they would score. This was how it was supposed to be growing up.

"I know what you're feeling." Dad said from beside me. "You feel like things are finally how they were supposed to be."

"Yeah, we missed out on so much of her life that I feel like I have to make that up to her even though it's not her fault."

The game is almost done as I'm talking with dad about Val. I missed her, I don't even know what to do without her. I don't want to lose her ever again.

All the men of the family are sitting higher so we can look out for anything and keep an eye on the women and girls and make sure they are safe. This is the one time where they can experience a normal family bonding time and we don't want anything to ruin it.

When the game finished we made our way down to the field to congratulate Giovanni and Lorenzo on winning the game, as well as Emiliano and Niccoló. When we got down there the first person they went to was Val. It was cute seeing them share their little moment together.

Lorenzo and Giovanni want to ride back home with Val so Alessandro drove them back home in his car. Before coming home though they had to drop off Val's friend first.

We made it home before them and so did Luca. He came up with me in the meantime to talk about a couple of things.

"So how do you feel about the ball coming up? Do you think Valentina will be safe enough? Some of the people there are looking for something to be able to hurt your family and Valentina is just that. If they get to Val they get to you guys."

"She'll be fine Luca, she's practicing self defense and she will also be with the females and boys throughout the whole ball. She won't be alone no matter what."

We talked a little more about how the day of the ball was going to look like. After a while we heard the front door open and close telling us that they came.

Valentina's POV

By the time we entered the house and took off our shoes Luca and Luciano came into view. Luca gave me a look and was about to talk when I interrupted him.

"I know. I know. I'm gonna go get changed really quick and meet you in the gym for training. You don't have to remind me." He just smirked and nodded as I made my way upstairs.

After changing into more suitable clothes I made my way to the gym. When I got there Luca already had everything set up and was waiting for me.

"So, are you ready to get started?" He said once I entered the gym.

"Not really but I have to, don't I."

"You got that right."

After training I sat on one of the benches next to him.

"Thank you." I said.

"For what?"

"I know you saw my scars. My shirt rode up a couple of times. I'm saying thank you for ignoring them."

"I know you need time before talking about these things. I was just giving you the time and space you needed."

"Did you know this was nothing compared to what my mom had to go through. She often made sure I was either hiding or out of the house when he was home. He was always drunk and I always felt like slapping some sense into him but I never did because I'm pretty sure that would've killed me and mom."

"We're here for you now. I remember your mom and when she was here she was the most amazing aunt one could have. She was always smiling. When you are ready to talk some more I'm here for you just like how everybody else is. Okay?"

"Okay, thank you." I said one last time before I went upstairs to my room to shower and do my homework.

After I finished the couple of assignments I had there was a knock on my door.

"Come in!" When the door opened Luciano appeared..

"You've been going on school lunch for the past 6 hours, you need to eat something else so Vince made something for us to eat. Come join us."

"Thank you!! I'm very hungry, especially after training. That just made me even more hungry."

We both made our way downstairs. I moved to go toward the dining room when Luciano stopped me and pointed toward the living room. With a confused expression I went to the living room and when I got in all of my brothers were sitting on pillows that were surrounding the big coffee table.

The coffee table was set up like the dining room table would have if we were eating there. There were two empty spots next to Vince that I was guessing were for me and Luciano. I was right when Lucaino nudged me in that direction. I sat next to Vince with Luciano on my other side.

"This felt more cozy and less formal than the dining table, so I set it up here." Vince says as if he sensed my confusion.

It felt nice to end the day off like this. It's moments like this where I realize that they are really trying to make me feel at home and make me feel comfortable with them around.
