Makenna placed her cup on the nearest flat surface which happened to be the short fence she leaned on. The drink spilled as it landed on the fence with more harshness than needed before she made a beeline for him.

"Mac." Brandon called as he pushed away from the fence,

"Mac?" Hee called but she was already out of earshot,

"Oh-oh," Lexi popped her lollipop out of her mouth, "That doesn't look good."

Killian's gaze followed her and Thea as well before she glanced at him,
"Is everything alright with your sister?"

"I think you should be more worried about your brother." Killian said when he noticed where she was headed,

Makenna stopped right in front of Atlas and his friend,

"Hi." Will greeted cheerfully with a smile,

Makenna shifted her gaze and aimed it right at Atlas who was looking at her like there was something wrong with their current situation, and she knew he wasn't sure what she was doing in front of him.

Atlas wasn't exactly sure what to think of her standing right in front of him looking at him like he had attempted to murder her but she'd managed to get away and now she wanted revenge. The death glare she aimed at him could very easily make anyone else cower but he was too intrigued to let that get to him.

"Is everyth..."

"What's your problem with my brother?" Makenna cut him off,

Uh...?
Atlas' head went blank,

"And that's my cue to subtly walk away." Will made his escape without either of them sparing him a glance,

"I don't have a problem with your brother." Atlas had finished his drink a while ago and had gotten rid of his cup, so he had nothing to do with his hands except keep them in his jacket's pockets.

"You clearly do."

Makenna knew she was fishing for an argument or better yet, a fight for no reason. At least, she didn't have a solid reason, she was just going off on the feeling she had about him which she was right about but didn't know. There was also a tiny part of her that hadn't wanted to come to him, the tiny part that thought there was really no point in getting into anything with him when she wasn't sure about his issue with Killian.

Atlas was looking right into her eyes trying to figure out what she knew and his gaze was intense which made Makenna uncomfortable but she wasn't about to let him know that.

"Well, out with it."

"What exactly are you getting at?" Atlas asked, thinking Killian didn't look like the kind of person to tell his sister about the talk they had or even have his sister fight his battles.

"The fact that you have a certain dislike for my brother even though he's been nothing but a perfect gentleman to your sister."

Atlas smiled to himself. He was starting to see a different side of her and she was nothing from the girl he'd bumped into outside the library.
"I'm just trying to look out for my sister."

"And I'm looking out for my brother."

"I guess we're at an impasse."

"Not if you stop trying to scare my brother off."

"I'm not trying to scare your brother off."

He was going to scare him off. Not trying to. There was a difference.

"Really?" Makenna disliked him, a little more, every time he opened his mouth to speak.

"Really." Atlas smiled which was more of a smirk that Makenna didn't like one bit,

She was trying to get him to fight back, verbally, preferably physically but he was doing the opposite and she hated it. Hated him for it.

Makenna took a step closer to him which made Atlas glance down at the little space between them and back into her glaring gaze,
"Just for your information, Thea would be just as hurt as my brother if you drive them apart. And I would have to do something you wouldn't like for making him go through that."

Atlas thought her attempt at threatening him was cute. So, he leaned close to her, bringing their faces inches closer,
"I look forward to it."

Makenna didn't like that he wasn't reacting the way she wanted him to,
"I think Thea should be the one who looks forward to it."

She had no idea why she said that and it honestly took her a second to realize what she meant but she knew very certainly that if Killian got hurt from his relationship because of Atlas, she wouldn't waste a second to make sure that Thea felt twice as hurt. She wouldn't care if Thea was the innocent one. Because clearly, Atlas didn't care that Killian was just as innocent in all of this as Thea was.

Atlas's face fell and Makenna smiled at him then as she watched his expression crumble,
"Tit. For. Tat."

She walked backwards to enjoy the look on his face for a moment longer before she turned around and headed back to her friends feeling much better on the inside than she had been a while ago.

Atlas was still processing what she'd said as he watched her walk away. He could see nothing but, the girl he'd been hearing whispers about, and he wondered if he'd imagined the girl outside the library. If that girl had said it, he would have been certain she didn't mean it even just a little bit but putting together things he'd heard about her from those girls outside the library and a few at the party, he wasn't sure if she meant it or not and that didn't sit well with him.

Atlas wanted to go after her and get her to explain exactly what she meant but he didn't want to cause a scene in front of Thea especially because it was about her. If she thought she'd scared him to back off on trying to get her sister to part with Killian, she was so wrong. She'd given him more reason to get Thea away from both siblings. He needed to think clearly and first find a way to talk Thea out of dating Killian, if that didn't work, then he would get right on getting Killian into Thea's bad books. If Thea broke up with Killian, then he wouldn't exactly have directly caused it, so Makenna couldn't do anything about it.

Hey guys,

I hope you're enjoying the story of Makenna and Atlas so far. I truly apologise for the slow update but I now have a day job that just allows me Sundays to write.

I'm hoping to get with the flow so that I can find more time to write, which may mean cutting back on my YouTube videos to create more time for writing.

My day job is 9 hours, then I have to edit Youtube videos for the week. Rather than upload weekly YouTube videos, I think I'll make it alternate weeks.

On that note, please check out YouTube today at 11 AM (Indian Time) or 5:30 AM (GST). Watch it whenever you can. İt's Part 2 of my Convocation video. Part 1 went up last week, you can watch it now.

See you guys next week.

Love,
Jane Lanett.
