Killian got out of the car and held the door open for Thea then shut it after she got out. He took her by the hand as the cab drove away.

"You ready?"

Thea looked at him and took a deep breath as she nodded.
"I think so."

"We don't have to go in, we can just get a cab and go somewhere else instead."

"No," She said, "I want to do this."

Killian smiled,
"If you're sure."

Thea smiled and Killian squeezed her hand in his and walked with her heading towards the church.

They were supposed to go to his parents' the previous day but at the last minute, the museum had called Thea and asked her if she could cover another employee's shift. She had been a bundle of nerves about meeting his parents and had quickly accepted but then during her shift, she felt bad about cancelling and had asked if they could go today instead.

Killian didn't want to rush Thea but she'd agreed about meeting his parents and he would've been fine if she wanted to postpone it indefinitely. They had just started dating and he would've preferred to wait a while before he introduced her to his parents, a long while. But Makenna had let the cat out of the bag and his parents had gotten inquisitive. But the main reason he'd wanted to do it was because of Thea. She'd always mentioned how lucky he was to have amazing parents and he wanted her to meet them so she could feel included because she was already an important person in his life, if not the most important.

Killian and Thea walked into the church hand in hand just as every parishioner was getting seated. Killian made a beeline for the pew his parents always liked to sit at.

"Hi dad, Hi mum." Killian said as he gestured for Thea to go first,

"Oh," Brianna, Killian's mum who was seated at the edge noticed Thea, "Scoot on over Joe."

Joe scooted and so did Brianna as Thea and Killian took their seats.

"Hello, Mr. and Mrs. Adams." Thea greeted them quietly with a smile,

"Hello dear," Joe and Brianna welcomed her with a smile,

"We didn't know you were coming for mass," Brianna said, "But it's good to have you here."

"Thank you." Thea smiled feeling her nerves slowly fade away,

She turned to Killian who was looking at her with a smile,
"I'm glad you're here."

"Me too."

The mass started when the revered father walked into the church with the altar servers. The sign of the cross was made and the readings followed. Thea found herself close to tears during the sermon which was about how the shepherd left his sheep in search of the lost one.

She thought of herself as the lost sheep and how her own mother had easily abandoned her. Her father was barely around and barely even knew her. She'd felt lost her entire life but listening to the sermon made her think about this shepherd out there.

Could he really leave his flock in search of her even if he didn't know anything about her? And if so, why would he want to look for her? She wasn't special.

Thea enjoyed the rest of the mass and soon they were heading out of the church and towards the car.

"Oh Thea, it's so good to finally meet you." Brianna said with a big smile and she pulled her to her side,

"It's nice to finally meet you Mrs. Adams." Thea smiled,

"Oh, you call me Brianna or Bree."

"Ok."
