Chapter Eighteen
Would You Like a Little Company?

The Winx sat at the grounds at Alfea, a picnic blanket between them.

"They're sending him to where?" Luella spoke, unable to swallow the words.

"They're sending him to Polaris," Stella repeated to the ice fairy whose veins began to flow with rage. Stella sat down next to Luella, looking at her in sympathy. The princess wore a matching strawberry pink jumper, trousers and surprisingly a pair of unbranded crocs.

"The frozen north?" Musa spoke as Luella noticed her hair in two messy buns, admiring them for a moment. "That's like a death sentence."

"First Dowling, now Silva," Terra accounted. "She could do it to my dad at any time." Luella took in her friend's words, it really, really sucked. Terra glanced over at Luella for a moment, realising her words. "Sorry."

"Sam says he's putting a good face for Rosalind. He's not happy about it-" Musa began before Bloom cut in.

"Isn't what he did self-defence?" Bloom brought up a point. "Andreas would've killed him if he didn't fight back. Who's his lawyer?"

"Unfortunately it's not like the first world," Luella answered.

"What, you think a courtroom drama played out? There was a trivial than a decree from the Queen," Stella explained.

"But if your mum made the degree, can she not un-make it?" Terra asked, trying to work a way around it.

"Even if we were speaking, she's not in the habit of changing her mind." Stella wasn't in contact with her mother for a while now, not since the first day of their second year. To get away and stay as low as possible, the light fairy was using invisibility often. "It's happening tomorrow. Andreas is leading the transfer."

"We have to do something," Luella declared. She'd not let her dad be imprisoned and tormented in the blithering North.

"Historically, letter-writing and campaigns have proved very effective," Terra proposed the idea. "However they do take time..."

Luella gave a small thankful smile for Terra's efforts.

"I'm thinking something active," Bloom agreed with Luella. She was ever so grateful the fire fairy wanted to get Silva out.

There was a moment of silence before Musa spoke up. "Felony-wise, going against Solaria is a pretty big step up from anything we got into last term."

"Going against Solaria is something that you don't just get into," Stella warned. She'd know of the dangers; being brought up in a palace with guards at presumably every corridor. "Even if we thought we wanted to, the Solarian Guard is brutal. They're focused and they-"

Luella looked at her friends with pleading eyes. "And it's my dad. It's Silva."

All the girl's eyes turned to her, a feature of sorrow on their faces.

Bloom finally joined them to sit on the blanket after her continuous pacing. "He's our only other link to Dowling. To how things used to be," She added on, her fiery hair bristling against her thick coat.

"Just to be clear, we're talking, like, full jailbreak, right?" Musa questioned.

The other fairies gave small nods in agreement.

"We can't tell Aisha because she will try and stop us," Stella indicated to the group.

Right on time, Aisha approached the group, wearing a marmalade-orange shirt with cups of tea in her hands, passing one to Luella, who thanked her.
