Leng Jin Yu and the two dragons listened quietly. By the time Ru Shu and the others finished, the study fell silent. There was a lot of information contained in what they had said. For one, there was what Ye Yang had said directly. Then, there was also what Ru Shu and the other five had been able to observe throughout the encounter.

Leng Jin Yu didn't speak up at first. This matter was something that concerned the whole dragon race and even though he had some relations with them, he didn't think that his status should allow him to make any decisions.

As for Xiang Yong and An Bai, they exchanged several glances throughout. In general, what they had heard sounded very good. But then, they couldn't trust Ye Yang's words blindly, and even what the group of six had seen might have been an act the demons put on precisely so that they would return and speak about it.

In the end, it was An Bai who spoke up first. "You've delivered the message. What do you intend to do afterward?"

The six of them exchanged a glance before Ru Shu spoke up again. "We will likely go and settle down somewhere together. Whether it is here or in the Nine Heavens, I'm not sure where we will be welcome. We'll first have to see about that before we can make any decisions."

An Bai nodded and then glanced at the god and the half-blood he had spotted among the group before. "You probably haven't heard about it since you were in the demon realm but His Majesty has been working on bettering the status of half-bloods in our realm. Those from the capital and the surrounding cities are currently involved in a research project that we are conducting together with the officials from the Court of Justice in the Nine Heavens. You would be very suitable to take part in this."

The two of them exchanged a glance. They hadn't even been sure whether they would be accepted back after staying in the demon realm for so long. Now, they were even offered such a chance?

They kept silent for a moment and the god's expression couldn't help but turn worried. "Adviser An Bai, I am sure that you can make this offer toward Fang Hong but I am of the god race with no dragon blood at all. Even if you tell me, I am afraid it wouldn't be so easy."

An Bai gave a hum. "I naturally can't make a decision in that regard but I do believe you would be suitable as well. Even if you aren't suitable for this, there is going to be another stage soon. If you want to, you can stay here and wait for its beginning."

Next to him, Xiang Yong nodded and turned to the three dragons and the other half-blood. "The same naturally goes for you. I admit I don't know how the gods will react but we are all dragons. Naturally, we do understand that your choices were limited when you left."

At that, An Bai couldn't help but take a closer look at the four of them as well. "Speaking of which: With Jin Ling dead, how are the four of you faring? I presume neither of you bound their soul to him?"

The four people all shook their heads and Ru Shu once again shook her head. "No, we didn't. I assume he wouldn't have let us either. Jie Mu ..." She looked at the half-blood that had some demon blood and hesitated whether she should say something.

Jie Mu smiled wryly. "It's alright." He turned to Xiang Yong and An Bai, looking slightly embarrassed. "To be honest, I didn't leave for Jin Ling. That is just where I happened to end up so this doesn't concern me as much." He glanced at one of the other dragons, not sure if he should say more.

Xiang Yong gave a hum. Even though Jie Mu hadn't said it, he could already imagine some of it. "Well, there isn't much we can do other than help you find a place to settle down. Either way, we would be happy to help you negotiate with the gods but you are also welcome in the dragon realm. I am certain His Majesty won't be of a different opinion."

The six of them nodded, looking relieved. Even though they had already resolved to go to the mortal realm if need be, they'd much rather stay among their own. If they could even become a normal part of the citizens of the dragon realm again, they would be even happier.

Xiang Yong kept quiet for a moment and then looked at An Bai and Leng Jin Yu. "We have already received the message but the gods will need to be informed as well. An Bai, how about you go back with them? You can also bring matters up with the people of the Court of Justice in case any of them are interested in helping out there." They hadn't given them any details about what they were researching but seeing as it concerned the curse of the dragons, they might actually benefit from it seeing as they were among those who had lost their partner.

An Bai nodded. "I think that is a good idea. Although ..." He turned to Leng Jin Yu with a subtle expression. "What about ..." He didn't finish the sentence, not sure how to say it.

Leng Jin Yu sighed. He could imagine what An Bai meant without even hearing it. "I placed the body in a coffin for now but I'm waiting for my husband to be in a better state to make any decisions. I guess we shouldn't wait too long. Seeing as they just escaped from the demon realm, maybe it would be best to wait until tomorrow to discuss that?"

An Bai and Xiang Yong nodded while the six people on the other side of the desk could only watch on in confusion.

Leng Jin Yu turned to them, his expression somewhat similar to the one An Bai had just shone. "You don't know this but we happen to have the body of Mojun Jin Ling here. Also, my husband ... well, they are related. Seeing as you were married to him, you might be interested in staying for the burial?"
