chapter 12

Lanique

Lanique stared down at her baby boy rubbing her fingers through his hair. He was the smallest and most beautiful baby she had ever seen. She hated that she had been stressing so much to cause him to be premature.

"What are you going to name him"? Dre said taking her out of her thoughts. He hasn't left her side since the day she went into labor.

"Daquari Alexander kyree" she said still looking at him.

"We need to talk" dre said nervously.

"About what" nique said giving him her undivided attention.

"About me being the father. I know you don't feel like its right but, give me a chance. I won't leave his side and I promise to love him as if he were my own"

"I don't know dre, I mean do you feel like you can handle all of this. Raising a child is hard and I know it'll be hard on the both of us" nique said reasoning with dre. She wanted him to really think about this before making a decision.

"I know nique and I'm willing to try if you are" dre said with a small smile.

"Fine then its settled youre the father. Don't fuck this up and stick to your promises" nique said being serious before smiling. She was happy that her baby wouldn't be father less even if it was her best friend.

Drequan

Dre couldn't believe that nique finally agreed to letting him be the father. Something inside him made him feel happy that he was going to be a father. He was going to spoil this baby and give him everything that he never had.

"Can I hold my son now" dre said looking at lanique who was so attached to daquari.

"Sure" lanique said giving dre her baby.

Dre looked down at the small human being he was holding in his hands and smiled to his self. This felt so unreal to him.

"Hi, little baby I'm your daddy. I want you to know that I'm gonna protect you from everything and keep you safe. I also want you to know that I love you to the moon and back" nique laughed at dre causing him to look up.

"What's so funny" dre said looking up at her smiling.

"Nothing" nique said laying back in her bed.

Dre talked to daquari a little more before handing him back to nique. He had one more thing to do and that was make things right with his mom.
