Naghalikan kaming dalawa. That's what keeps revolving in my mind as I eat shrimp in butter. There are six of us at the long table having lunch, and I can't look at Grim's side.
"Magaling ka pa lang magluto? The dishes are so good, Grim! Maybe you're actually a chef pretending to be a bodyguard?" Maura said while we were eating.
Ani and Ruiz are sitting to my left and right. In front of us are Maura, Ringvo, and Grim. Maura is facing me, and Grim is facing Ani.
My chest feels like it's being chased in the wild grove. Hanggang ngayon, matulin pa rin ang takbo ng puso ko tuwing iniisip ko ang labi ni Grim na humahalik sa akin. It feels so unreal but was good. It was a very deep, long kiss that I wouldn't get over.
"Marunong lang talaga akong magluto," Grim said humbly.
"You cook so good, Grim. Swerte naman ng magiging girlfriend mo!" Sabay sipat sa akin ni Maura. "Right, Al? Si Ruiz kasi ang alat magluto e."
That was a joke and we laughed. Hindi ko nakita kung tumawa ba si Grim. Umiling naman si Ruiz at hindi nakipagtalo. Meanwhile, Ringvo looked jealous.
Ani was very, very silent while eating. Aside from her hands and mouth, her body barely moves. It's as if Ruiz's personal assistant has been paralyzed.
Makita ba naman niya akong nakikipaghalikan sa bodyguard ko? Whatever her opinion is, it doesn't matter to me. I also don't care if she would tell Ruiz.
After our lunch, we continued practicing at the shooting range. There was a wooden table there, and that's where I saw Grim, Ani, and Maura sitting to watch. Maura didn't want to join us anymore.
"I was the one who shot the head earlier," I told Ruiz as I loaded the pistol's magazine with bullets one by one. "You weren't there because you had a call."
After his call, he ordered Ani to call me for lunch. Hindi na siya bumalik. At kung siguro siya ang nakakita sa halikan namin ni Grim, baka may masama pang nangyari. Thank God he did not!
The targets were changed. They were all half-body now. I focused on my own target, even though I was quite distracted because I knew Grim's watching me.
Naalala ko na naman kung gaano siya kaasintado kanina. It was surprising and mind-blowing. Ang galing niya!
"Al, wala ka pang natatamaan pero malapit na madurog 'yung katawan ng target!" Pinagtawanan ako ni Maura.
I turned to her and I raised my middle finger. She laughed like a dramatic witch. Nang balingan ko si Grim ay nakita ko ang makulimlim niyang tingin sa akin at sa gitnang daliri ko na nakatayo.
Oh!
I quickly looked away and dropped my finger. He didn't like that? Is he conservative? But it was just a bad finger, though!
Ruiz achieved more goals between me and Ringvo. I have the fewest hits. Medyo napapahiya ako sa ginagawa kong 'to pero tuwing naaalala ko ang paghalik sa akin ni Grim, gumiginhawa ang pakiramdam ko.
"Gagaling ng mga boys!" Maura clapped her hands proudly. "Our doctors are so good, except for one!"
Umirap ako sa asar ni Maura pero natatawa.
"Why don't we make a bet? Girls against girls first, then boys next. Let's play intense!"
"Maur, are you bored?" I turned to her.
"What's the bet?" Ruiz challenged.
"Okay, let's bet!" Ringvo joined.
"Whoever has the fewest hits pays fifty bucks! And the person with the most hits gets the money!"
