Family. I can put my life on the line for them. Ever since when I was young, I have been very submissive. Their compliments for me, their applause, their efforts, and their love are my badges of honor and medallion. And although, we are treated in each different ways.

I was thankful Mom and Dad never pushed me to break a thing after I told them I'm in a relationship with Grim Vendivil. Hindi nila ako sinuportahan pero hinayaan nila ako sa gusto ko. I'm still, still thankful after all.

"I'm glad you went here! We're about to fly by tomorrow!" Mom hugged me tight.

"Well, it's a surprise," I chuckled and kissed her cheek. "Where's Dad?"

"He's in the plant. Anong sinakyan niyo papunta rito?"

"Grim's chopper, Mom. He's in his house, kasama si Teylie. Teylie will be here later. What about... Lolo?"

"Oh yeah! Your husband doesn't go here!" umirap si Mama. "And your Lolo is in the plant too. Magkasama sila ngayon ng Dad mo."

Sunod na humalik sa kaniya si Dahlia. Kaming apat lang ang umuwi ngayong araw sa Sorsogon. Yary and Rems are in Manila, hindi sumabay.

"You look fresher today, huh?" Dahlia teased Mom. "Pwede pang mag-anak ulit. I think we'll have a boy this time."

Nagtawanan kami.

"Still hoping for a baby boy! Kristina, better have your own son!"

Dahlia laughed evilly. "I don't think we can go there, Mama!"

Inirapan ko ang kapatid ko. "Let's see."

"And by the way, ano 'tong naririnig ko? And I saw something! May boyfriend na ang bunso niyong kapatid? I saw her on Facebook where she was tagged by a man. They were on a Balabac Island. Who's the guy?"

"Manliligaw daw!" Nagsabay pa kami ni Dahlia.

I stalked Rems' account and I found some little information about her suitor. Yary told me that she's been dating a lot of guys these past few months. Last year, she dated a lawyer and an engineer. Last month, nutritionist. Ngayon, engineer ulit.

"Profession?"

"Engineer," sagot ko. "Mukhang boyfriend niya na ata 'yon e. They are fond of each other."

"I want to see her boyfriend. Is Remijence serious about it? I mean, I heard she only does crushes and dating? And she never had introduced any guy. Si Simon lang ang lalaking palagi kong nakikita na kasama niya." Mother was overwhelmed.

"If she's serious about her boyfriend, she would probably introduce him to you, Mom. 'Wag kang mag-alala, she seems seryoso naman about it. And she doesn't seem in a rush. Hayaan muna nating kiligin 'yung bunso." Natatawang sabi ko.

"She's gatekeeping the engineer, though," Kristina said.

"And you're gatekeeping an engineer too." I mocked her.

She rolled her eyes at me. Mom's eyebrows shot up. Natawa ako at itinikom ang bibig.

I went here because I miss coming back home. It's been three months. I prepared myself for this. Dahil alam kong kapag umuwi ako rito, makikita ko ulit ang taong pinabayaan ako. Ang taong hindi ko pinili.

I did not change my clothes anymore. We are inside our car now. Mom asked me if I feel okay because she was bothered and worried.

"I'm okay, Mom. This is the right time to see him again." I answered casually without hesitation.
