"The spare key you gave me remember," she states
"How did you even know I was here," I ask her
"Security cameras I saw you go into my lab." she reminds me
"shit," I say to myself
"What do you honestly want Shuri?" I ask
I just came to speak to you Monet about-
ding she was interrupted by a message from Xavier I grab my phone quickly to see what he said and man can that guy turn a serious situation into a joke

Xavier: Seriously tho can you stop interrupting my sentences midway 😀
Monet: nope😘
"Anyway, back to u Shuri what do you want to talk about?" I say
That's when my phone rings again
incoming call from Xavier
"Just ignore it," I say
"So who's Xavier," she asks
"No one," I say
"Get back to your reason for being here Shuri I seriously don't have time for you to come and mess me up again," I whisper
"Look yeah, I know I screwed up with you and I took everything you did for me for granted," she says slowly her eyes red as hell
"Shuri are you high right now are you being for real right now?"
"Does Okoye even know your out right now?" I ask sternly
"No, I snuck out," she says
"Your grown and sneaking out now." I say before realising she's literally high
"Wait you get high and come here and NO ONE KNOWS YOU OUT RIGHT NOW, ARE YOU SERIOUS SHURI ARE YOU BEING SERIOUS?" I shout
"Aye Calm down it's fine my car is parked outside," she says
"Even worse Shuri EVEN WORSE your high as hell right now and you acting like everything is ok right now, seriously Shuri do you enjoy stressing me out?" I say confused
"You are hella fine did you know that?" she says
"You know what don't speak I need to figure out a way to fix this you can stay here because you can not get back this high and then tomorrow your back home straight."
"So who's Xavier?" she asks again
"None of your business," I say to her
"Well if my ex is talking to someone I would like to know," she says
"Look at me Shuri we never dated so don't call me your ex do you understand," I say
"If that's what you think," she says
"You know what I'm not even going to argue with you right now check for something to change into in the draws I still haven't fully unpacked yet so some old clothes might be there," I say
She searches and finds one of her old oversized t-shirts and joggers
"Not my ex but still has my clothes" she whispers
"What was that," I ask
"Nothing," she says
I leave the room to tell Ayesha everything but she already standing there with her arms crossed in front of the door. And I know she's going to yell at me like she's my mum.
"Monet are you being serious right now," she whispers sternly
"I know I know it looks bad but I couldn't just leave her alone like that she's like really high like club me high."
"Are you serious" she looks at me shocked
"Yes I am being serious," I say
"I'm going to let her stay then tomorrow I will take her back," I say
"Fine but I swear-" I cut her off mid-sentence
"Nothing is going to happen I promise," I say
We both say good night to each other, and go back to our rooms I stand and ask Shuri to go to Nakia's old room she doesn't move but sits down on my bean bag as asks
"so I would like to know what you meant by she was as high as me at the club means," she says
"Come on Shuri I think you should go to sleep Ayesha is already on my case man."
That's when I'm interrupted by another call from Xavier this time I answer it.
Xavier: hey Monet I was wondering
Monet: um hey I'm kind of preoccupied at the moment.
Monet:but I have 5 minutes to spare.
Xavier: Are you sure?
Monet: yeah I am
Xavier: ok I was wondering if you would like to go out with me when you come back to Chicago?
Monet: yeah sure but can we discuss this when I'm not as busy I'm so sorry I will call you straight away tomorrow I promise.
Xavier: ooh Monet making promises now I see, but yeah sure we can talk tomorrow bye
Monet: bye bye
I end the call and turn to look at Shuri who looks confused yet pissed,
"so that must be Xavier come on what's going on with you and him," she asks
"Shuri look yeah, I could be talking to him right now, but I'm here dealing with you I looked so rude when he just asked me out! "
"Oh so that's who's always blowing up your phone do you think he's fine?" she asks
"I'm not answering you Shuri just go to Nakia's room, please tomorrow I will talk to you but right now I can't," I state
"Ok, then I'm going," she says as she walks out the door.
Finally, peace I say as I lay back down on my bed and wonder about this eventful day which makes me rethink my whole life choices and why I do this shit to myself and how my friends didn't even wake up during all that except Ayesha who practically the scariest person I know, still love her though. I turn around and set an alarm for 11:30 so I can get up to get Shuri back home, I set it and close my eyes so I can sleep which as we all know we always work who doesn't love sleep?
I'm on holiday yet I'm still setting alarms what has my life become?
Hold on y'all because Monet and Xavier are actually funny together but will they last that's my question?🤷♀️
