it is about time I posted 'em...
I'm mostly not surprised by this, I'm just shocked that Pop was the no. 1 most listened to genre because I listened to rock for a greater part of the year. Show Tunes was from me sharing my Spotify account with my sister (until I made the best decision of kicking her out).
I did play I Am Machine multiple and numerous times. sorry, I just love this song, lol.
2022 was a great year for me to discover more from a lot of bands I casually listened to before 2022 and these songs are killers, bangers, badass, however you wanna say it.
okay, this part is gonna be kinda awkward but I don't know what to feel about Skillet anymore. especially with John Cooper sharing misinformation about the pandemic and vaccines, declaring a war on deconstruction without trying to understand the nuance of that topic and the new album Dominion didn't really cut it for me.
that being said, I'm still a fan, this band introduced me to post grunge and hard rock and it also saw me through the pandemic which I'll be eternally grateful for.
for KING & COUNTRY is not surprising at all, I love this band and they are amongst the few CCM artists I actually enjoy listening to.
Breaking Benjamin's music is angry, sad, despondent and full of a lot of emotions I have felt throughout this year and their song Failure got me through 2020 when I had bad grades in my first year of university.
Three Days Grace is just downright awesome and I don't care if it is Adam Gontier or Matt Walst, I love the songs either way.
Red delivered a lot of range which is the one thing I miss from Skillet's music. Red ranges from heavy to soft with its symphonic elements to accompany the music. I'll try to get into more of their discography come 2023.
I am not surprised by this one, not at all 💀💀💀
