I'm incredibly bored. Again
Warning: Very bad oneshot and spoilers for Warriors by Erin Hunter

OC Name: Nightleaf
Fandom: Warrior Cats (if you haven't read any of the books yet...this will definitely confuse you. But I'm doing it anyway)
Species: Cat
Location: ThunderClan territory, near the Sky Oak

There were fox cubs on the loose.

    How wonderful.

Nightleaf's ears flattened when she thought about the kits in the nursery. She couldn't bear it if foxes got near the hollow, smelled the kits, and bounded in to take them for itself as a snack. Even if the camp was filled with warriors, in the harsh leaf-bare, a fox would do anything to get its paws on some fresh-kill.

    Thornclaw must've sensed her unease.

"Calm down, Nightleaf," the warrior mewed. "These cubs can't be big enough to get through a camp full of warriors. The kits are safe."

Nightleaf never had kits, and never wants to, but she sometimes treated the kits in the nursery like her own, always bringing them stuff from the forest to play with or fresh-kill. Especially Lionkit, Hollykit and Jaykit. Something about the three kits made her curious, but she couldn't put her paw on it.

Nightleaf, Thornclaw, Spiderleg, Poppypaw and Mousepaw were trying to trace the female fox's scent back to her den. But the smell of her milk was faint, and hard to follow.

"How big do you think the foxes are?" Poppypaw asked her littermate, excitement coursing through her.

"They must be small if their mother is still nursing them!"

Nightleaf crouched low to the ground. She took a deep breath, opening her mouth to let the scents waft in. The stench of fox overlayed the sweet milk-scent, and led around a patch of bramble bushes.

"This way!" she called, and picked her way around the bush.

    "Good job, Nightleaf," Thornclaw praised.

"It's nothing," Nightleaf replied, embarrassed, padding on. But as she said it, yowls of fear echoed through the forest, and they sounded familiar...

Nightleaf shot up as a familiar bundle of black fur pelted past her, but didn't stop even as Thornclaw yowled. A furious, snapping fox was hot in pursuit.

Another bundle raced towards her, with another fox following. Nightleaf grabbed Lionkit by the scruff as he tried to run past them, and kicked the fox cub away, growling. Poppypaw and Mousepaw hissed at the fox, and Poppypaw swiped at it. The fox whimpered, turned and ran away into the forest.

"Spiderleg! Go follow Hollykit," Thornclaw ordered, and Spiderleg raced off.

"Can we chase the fox cub off?" Poppypaw asked.

Nightleaf set Lionkit on the forest floor, and hissed "What were you thinking?"

"I-I— Me a-and Hollykit a-and Jaykit w-were trying to h-help." Lionkit stammered. Nightleaf softened. The kit was afraid, and terrified to the bone. Why wouldn't he be? Nightleaf was too, her heart was pounding loudly and her fur stood on end, her tail inbetween her legs.

"You could've been killed!" Thornclaw scolded.

    "Where's Jaykit?" Nightleaf asked.

    "I-I don't know."

"Let's get the mousebrain back to the camp first," Thornclaw suggested.

"I'll do it," Nightleaf volunteered. "You chase the fox off."

Then she unceremoniously picked Lionkit by the scruff again, and raced through the woods, arriving at the hollow to a horrid sight.

Lionkit struggled at the sight, and Nightleaf dropped him, bounding over to Jaykit. Hollykit and Brambleclaw's patrol arrived at the same time, and Brambleclaw darted forward, and nudged his son gently.

"He's still breathing," Leafpool reassured him. "His heartbeat is steady. He'll make it."

Brambleclaw didn't say anything for a moment. Then, he ordered Whitewing to fetch Firestar and Squirrelflight.

Brambleclaw then picked up Jaykit, and carried him to the medicine den, Nightleaf following.

She stayed, and helped Leafpool as she chewed dock leaves into pulps and spread them over the kit's scratches.

Nightleaf laid a tail on Leafpool in reassurance. "He'll be okay. I know how worried you are, but he's not going to die yet."

Leafpool nodded shakily. Nightleaf knew her secret, but she'd vowed to never tell anyone unless given permission by Leafpool or Squirrelflight.

After all, Nightleaf had a little secret of her own as well.

This is what I do when left alone with my brain. Write a very bad oneshot.
