Kyra's POV
By the time 4th period hit I was already falling asleep, and to make things worse, none of the guys were in my class, I had science while they all had math
My head hung low as I made my way to my seat which was in the back corner, lucky me.
A few seconds later, the teacher walked in and started to talk about a project
"You will be working with the person sitting next to you." I raised my hand "Yes, Kyra?"
"No ones sitting next to me." I stated
"You can work with..." The teacher looked around trailing off "...Jason." I mentally groaned, Jason Carter. The most popular boy in school.
"So, I guess we're partners." Jason said obnoxiously
"I guess so." I sighed as I opened my text book
"Why don't you come over to my house this afternoon and we can work on the project." Jason asked
"I can't. I have to watch my brothers band practice." I mentioned
"Why? Isn't that like boring?" Jason questioned, I rolled my eyes
"No, it's actually quite entertaining." I replied honestly
"Ok, well, if you change your mind, here's my number." Jason winked handing me a piece of paper as the bell rung
"Thanks." I said with a small blush as I collected my books

I closed my locker and jumped when I saw Luke standing there
"Jesus, Luke! Don't do that." I yelled slapping Luke's arm
"Why are you so smiley?" Luke asked as we started to walk to the oval
"I'm not smiley." I denied sternly
"Seriously? Cause, you're looking at me like this..." Luke cut himself off when he demonstrated a big smile, I rolled my eyes
"Fine, you got me. I'm working on a school project with Jason Carter." I gave in, Luke's face dropped
"Jason Carter?" Luke asked
"Yeah, it's no big deal." I shrugged
"No big deal? You're kidding me right?" I looked at Luke confused "Kyra, he's broken pretty much every girl at this schools heart, you're next!" I scoffed
"You're just saying that cause you're jealous." I shot back, Luke raised his eyebrows
"Me? Jealous?" I nodded, Luke let out a scoff "I'm not jealous, why would I be jealous? You're my best friend..." I started to frown "I just don't want you to get hurt."
"I'm not gonna get hurt." I stated simply
"How do you know that?" Luke somewhat shouted
"Cause, I'm not like you." Luke's face turned from a frown to shock as I walked away "See you at home, Cal." I said as I walked passed the others, Calum looked from me to Luke in confusion as Luke called out my name...
