lanterns in my lonely nights

the light in you
when it's seeping into my skin
i know you've been to places i never have
and i rant about being impaled

witty remarks
all my questions anew
so fond of being lost
what can you do?
i picture that everything is okay
but your fingers freeze when they near me
you're crippling in faith
my memories ablaze
in your winter garden of loneliness

i would scream on top of my lungs
i would write until i run out of blood
disproving what you know is love
are you happy where it had you come?

the light in you
when it's slitting my skin
i know it took you hours to give in
to agree and stay

all my questions anew
so i ask you what makes you blue?
“when i come out of that little igloo
i see your face enchanting the way
you're a cripple, but your love is a daze
dandelions, daisies, redwood trees
i'd die for all of them to be remembered for me.”
the lanterns flickered, in my lonely nights
