"time, time, time." calum muttered to himself, pacing up and down his room. he had his phone in his hand, waiting for even a singular letter to come through in a message from ivy; something so simple would be satisfying for him.

meanwhile, ivy was sat alone, a small box in her hands. it had been sent through the letterbox, no letter or tag attached, simply a box just slipped through her front door. she sighed, tapping her fingers against it, debating what she should really do.

"how bad can it be..?" she asked herself, taking a breath before opening the box slowly.

-

"so, miss ivy." the headmistress muttered, her hands locked together leaning on the desk. ivy felt like she was going to explode; she was sat in a room, called in by the head, who wasn't particularly fond of ivy or her concept of good behaviour anyway, and to top it all off, calum was sat in the chair next to her, his demeanour making him look like a scared puppy.

"i understand you no longer attend math classes, which will need to be altered as quickly as possible," she said through gritted teeth, "but you are now encouraging other students to skip their highly beneficial classes, leading to a lack of work and-"

"okay." ivy interrupted bluntly, sinking down into the plastic chair,

"so, mr hood here would like an apology for forcing him to do this, also to his parents." she nodded as ivys eyes widened,

"is this a joke?" she laughed, shaking her head, "i made him do nothing, nothing." she spat, looking to calum,

"my mum thinks that-"

"so, are you going to apologise or are we going to take this further?" the wrinkly woman questioned, leaning forward slightly,

"oh, dear calum." she said, sitting up and turning to the boy, "i am ever so sorry that you decided to throw all of your problems onto me and expect me not to react. i'm sorry that you decided to pretend to have a dead family or that you slept with another girl after acting like we were in love," she chuckled, "but most of all, i'm sorry that you were stupid enough to skip class." she turned to the teacher with a smile, before standing up and leaving the room, closing the door behind her.

the next morning, ivy received a letter explaining her three day exclusion and how she was not allowed on school grounds during this time. she screwed the letter up, laughing and throwing it onto the kitchen floor. she then proceeded to grab a bottle of whiskey from the cupboard, a loud groan coming from her lips as she moved to the living room, flicking the cap off and beginning to drink the burning liquid.

throwing herself onto the couch, she stared down at the box, a watch burning into her eyes as she sighed. inside the box, it read 'time'. the gift was obviously from calum, and at this point, she had no idea what to do.
