the past week hadn't been awkward for ivy, just slightly annoying. since calum had explained his life to her, he hadn't spoken to her much.

you see, calum felt avoiding talking to her meant he wouldn't have to talk about his family, and that was the easy way out for forgetting his troubled past.

every time she said hello, he would show a pathetic smile and walk away. yes, he may have been hurting, but avoiding the only person who knew why wouldn't help.

ivy knew she had to try harder. calum had been going to all his classes, unlike ivy who had proceeded to skip more school because she felt irritating towards calum.

ivy had a secret; she loved music, singing, everything about it. although she was very quiet about it, she was talented.

she sung at bars, small ones with small audience's, and enjoyed it. it took her mind of her problems, things which bothered her.

"evening." ashton nodded, as ivy returned the gesture.

ashton owned the small bar, it was handed down to him from his parents. he and ivy were close childhood friends who soon bonded over their love of music and underage drinking.

"how long are you here tonight?" he asked,

"until eleven." she simply stated as he nodded and waited for the small friday night crowd to build up.

"i've actually got some originals tonight, is that okay?" she asked as ashton nodded in agreement and ivy plugged in the microphone, preparing to sing.

at nine, the usual crowd had appeared. ivy had sung a few songs along with her original, everything is embarrassing.

"so," she muttered into the microphone

"this is for you, asian boy." she laughed,

"poured myself a warm glass, and laid awake,

i prayed the lord my soul to take,

i thought about you all day, how we have the same face,

i fell asleep so confused, parts of me remind me of you,

how could i ever wish away?

only ever in dreams i wrap my arms around you,

and standing in the water with me,

i can tell you what i wanna' tell you,

and i hope its not just a bad dream,

hope its not just a sad dream,

i wake up and hear my phone-"

ivy stopped, her eyes widening to see someone sat at the bar, completely unaware of her presence,

calum.

ive linked sad dream if you want to listen to it :))
