honestly? calum knew ivy was there. he had overheard some girls talking about how 'pathetic' her voice was, and calum wanted to find out for himself.
in reality, she had a beautiful voice. one that you would listen to when you needed calming down or relaxing. one that would sing you to sleep.
calum liked ivy. he liked her a lot. but every time he told anyone about his story, they left him, and he was scared that this was going to happen with ivy. he was worried that now she knew, she would just leave him, so to stop himself hurting he quit whilst he was ahead, as some would say.
ivy still thought calum was unaware of her, and continued to sing as the song came to an end,
"so," she coughed quietly into the microphone,
"that was my last song, i hope you enjoyed my show tonight and i'll see you next week." she smiled as a small amount of applause filled the room.
she scurried off the stage after slotting the microphone back into its holder, attempting to go unnoticed by calum.
"ivy!" ashton called as ivy sighed, turning around,
"yes, ashton?"
"you played a good show tonight, good job." he said as she gave him a small smile and grabbed her coat. if calum hadn't noticed her yet, it would be a miracle.
"i'm off," she said to ashton, giving him a small wave,
"bye, ivy." he called as she walked out the door. usually she would stay, going home to an empty apartment was horrible, but she didn't feel the need to socialise with calum, not tonight.
"ivy," she heard a voice call, and footsteps not far behind her. she immediately recognised calums voice and turned,
"what, calum?" she asked, her tone coming out more angry than intended,
"can we talk?" he said as ivy shook her head,
"why?" ivy rolled her eyes,
"because, i feel bad for not talking to you and-"
"calum, i don't care. i've been lonely for long enough, i don't think loosing a stranger is going to affect me." she laughed,
"i don't want to be a stranger to you, ivy." he said honestly as she chuckled,
"you've treated me like one for the past few days, calum."
"i didn't want to loose you, okay? fuck! every time i tell someone about my life, they fucking leave me and i was scared, okay?! i didn't want to loose you too!" completely taken back by his response, ivy remained quiet, stepping forward to calum as she noticed tears in his eyes,
"i'm sorry.." she mumbled as calum shook his head,
"its fine, i don't care." he muttered as ivy shook her head and opened her arms, as calum leaned in and hugged her tightly, a few tears spilling from his eyes,
"please don't leave me."he muttered as ivy smiled,
" i won't."
