after today i have decided to become a nun and never talk to a boy again
"i really do enjoy spending time with you, calum." she smiled as he nodded,
"me too, and i know we've only just got to know each other, but i really think your, um, great." he smiled awkwardly, scratching the back of his neck.
the pair honestly didn't do much during there 'date'. they sat and talked about random things; school, home, other boring conversations and just enjoyed each others company.
ivy really did enjoy spending her time like this; it felt like her escape, calum gave her the same escape that music did. and it made her very, very happy.
calum also enjoyed the time he spent with ivy, but he was scared. he was scared of commitment, scared of getting his heart broken. this is why calum had never been able to sustain a relationship, he felt uncomfortable with the element of trusting someone with your own heart, a part of you which created your emotions and if was damaged would hurt.

"do you maybe want to do something like this next week?" ivy asked as she hovered over her doorstep,
"yeah!" calum said eagerly, maybe too eagerly,
"i mean, uh, yeah, that sounds cool, yeah." he said, coughing awkwardly,
"saturday?" she asked,
"im at a party.." he sighed, and ivy nodded,
"that's fine." she smiled, "sunday?"
calum nodded with a smile as ivy returned the gesture, as the two awkwardly stood in silence.
"can i kiss you?" calum blurted out and throwing a hand over his mouth after he did so as ivy laughed, tapping her cheek as he placed a gentle kiss on her soft skin, smirking to himself afterwards.
"bye, calum." she smiled, opening her front door and waving to calum as he turned on his heel, waving to her.
